I'm rather peeved by this. I got a call on Friday as well; answered it and there was NOBODY there. So, called back, went through prompt hell, and spoke to a person there - they told me several people had called in asking about this same issue but that nothing was wrong with my account. Find it funny/odd/sad that the CSR wasn't aware of what it was about
I'll have to call back - or write in - to request they don't barrage me with telemarketing. I'm *NOT* interested as I'll read about any deals I'm interested in online. I had to do the same thing with Telus and Robbers in the past; nothing new.
I got this automated call, but I was half-asleep so I just hung up on it.![]()

haven't gotten the call yet, but i do appreciate the bill payment reminder
I got a text message and an automated phone call on my phone regarding getting my friends and families onto Mobi.
I know that Mobi visits this site, so here my feedback:
1) Voice call is annoying. It takes a lot more work and effort to answer the phone. Some people will go out of their way to pick up a voice call (which, to me, implies a greater sense of urgency than a text message).
2) I understand that Mobi is pushing hard to get subs, and I'll do my best to support Mobi. For that reason, I'll put up with the spamming (which is exactly what this is), but it will have to stop soon. 4 months from now, if this is still going on, I'll have a serious issue, with it.
I dont answer any 800, 877, 888 numbers, I just silence the call, if its something important then they'll leave a message, if its telemarketing like Robbers trying to sell me homephone or digital cable they never leave a message. There is no way of getting rid of 100% telemarketing calls, you can signup for all the DNC lists you want, they'll still call you. If you are a member of any company, like CAA, MBNA Credit Card (<-the worst), or even Mobilicity, you authorize them to call you with offers when you signup with them, its a loop-hole in the DNC process. Just learn to live with it.
I cracked & signed up with Telus. I couldnt resist the Free Phone, $300 airtime credit, and EPP ($20+tax : 350mins, unlimited early evngs /wknds, cd, vm, unlimited NA txts, NO SAFS or 911) With the $300 credit its like having a free year of phone service.
you maybe never received a call, but they are allowed if they ever do decide to give you a ring, its a loop-hole in the DNC list. Sure it can get annoying, but atleast they arent trying to sell you generic viagra or something. Your cellphone provider is just keeping you in the loop when it comes to you saving some money, $10 credit if you get a family member to join is a nice perk. Its a little annoyance, you're making it sound like they are threatening to kill your first born. Just call, wait, speak to a rep or opt out via email/snail mail like a previous poster mentioned.
This is nothing, at least what they are telling me is useful; $10 credit for each party, and considering most of Mobis customers are being brought in by word of mouth its great for many.
At least I dont sign up for TV with Bell and get calls from fricken solo mobile and crap about signing up for their crappy voice plans, I cant tell you how many calls I have received from them after signing up with Bell TV.
The message said that you should take your friend to the Mobi store where you signed up, and they'll handle the referral credits. I'm guessing that you can probably just tell your friend to ask about the referral credits, as long as they also know your name and phone number.
