I went to bestbuy today in Lansing, MI, and saw that they had a Verizon LTE demo netbook. Uh, there is no 4G LTE here. bestbuy had the thing hooked up to wifi, which you could only tell via a speed test ISP reading. Deceptive.
Yea, Verizon decided to have them in every store regardless of 4G in the area.

Someday they'll see the light. Or they won't, either way I don't care. I'll keep shining.

You guys do understand that it's the vendors that pay for and provide those setups? You should be upset with them.

Yes, and they must first be approved by the retailer. My local best buy used to have a verizon netbook on thier wpa enabled wifi as well, but when it was for 3g

What the hell dsjr2006, do you think you've had enough phones over the years?

Regarding the displays -- Best Buy demoing "4G" using wifi is really greasy. But, I don't see any problem with VZW or Best Buy having 4G displays in areas that don't have 4G yet. If VZW had had any LTE Android phones with a keyboard, I would have bought one even though there's no LTE here yet. I bought an EVDO-capable air card when my area was still 1X, since I knew we'd get it eventually (it took longer than I expected, but I got plenty of EVDO usage out of that card.)

Why does it not say who the service provider is. When I tether sweetest.net says my isp is T-Mobile. Why does yours just say service provider?

It seems that whenever my speedtests say Service Provider, my latency is lower, and my closest server location is actually someplace near me, not accross the country.

Maybe some sites have a direct connection to the internet while others still go through the carriers datacenters like they always have?
