Nice! I can tell you I would hit 50-55 on that tower. I had my Thunderbolt and my dads sitting next to my Nexus. Running each test separately, the Thunderbolts never reached 20. My Nexus continuously hit 44-46. There is a big difference, and I think others here with the Nexus can attest to the speed increases on the Nexus.

Is the Thunderbolt a Category 2 chip? Anyone know?

Nope, it's the same Category 3 Quaalcomm's MDM9600 that's used in Rezound, UML290, and tons of other LTE devices. Great chipset, but they completely messed up the radios with the OTA.

Wow Mark! It's been a long time since I've seen you post on HoFo! You used to always complain about shoddy signal at your place - did you move, or is this the improvement you've seen in your neck of the woods?!

Using the Bionic as a hotspot... not too shabby! I am glad this is not a long term solution as it is only a few dollars less than Concast Performance!

CDMA is still horrid due to capacity issues but they are in the process of adding more cells that should be coming online early next year.
That test was not at my house, which fluctuates betwen 4-11 mbps, much better than CDMA only, which is dial up speed at best
