I'm in a market that is switching from Alltel to AT&T. As such like everyone else there was a selection of phones to choose from, with the IPhone 4 amongst them. That was the phone I chose. I was one of the first to choose it in my state (as my original thread here shows) as well so I didn't wait last minute or anything.
Fast forward, about a week or so ago I got a text stating that now, instead of mid-January, the phone would be shipping in late Feb or March.
I checked today and ALL IPhone 4's are now MIA on the AT&T portion of the site where Alltel customers choose their new phone with only some 3G's still available. With everyone I have talked to, the ones primarily affected it seems are those that chose the IPhone 4. Everyone else I have talked to that chose something else, have not gotten that text.
So is the text more IPhone supply related and the network is still going live in Jan., or is it actually a network issue and everyone is going live in late Feb/March?
The message is not related to handset selection in any way. The network will not be ready in January and the market launch/transition has been delayed by at least one month in ALL markets that were originally scheduled to transition in January. I just checked the handset selection site for my own personal account and the iphone 4 is available to select. I am not sure why you cant see them.
Where does your information from I am in a divested market in New Mexico I was told by s ATT rep that our phones (I have 1 iPhone 4, 1 Blackberry Torch, and and of the free ones they offered) will be shipped by mid December.

Well, since you don't live in the last group of markets (UT/MT/WY/SD/ND), I would guess that this thread doesn't apply to you. cclay25's information comes from........cclay25. It will always be more accurate than anything you ever hear from anyone else.
This confusion can easily be avoided if you pronounce the word intended aloud. If it has a voiced Z sound, then it’s “lose.” If it has a hissy S sound, then it’s “loose.” Here are examples of correct usage: “He tends to lose his keys.” “She lets her dog run loose.”
Loose
not rigidly fastened or securely attached
Lose
to miss from one's possession or from a customary or supposed place
Also, just because a word has an "s" at the end, doesn't mean it needs an apostrophe.

So pretty much discard what the ATT rep told me? Just asking. and Also Alltel send a message to my handset in November right before Thanksgiving saying that you for your order will will let you know when your handset is sent out late Feb or Early March, Alltel said this was a mistake and ATT has verified that the hadsets will be sent out mid Dec. I just want my iPhone.
They both gave you bad information. Unforunately there is some lag time before the message gets to everyone in AT&T and Alltel customer service. The most reliable source of information is going to be local corporate stores right now.
I can confirm that all markets in NM have indeed been delayed to late February.......

Either stupid or smart on ATT part cause if thats the case I will cxl my order and just take the free phones and get the new iPhone 5 which is slated for spring 2011, why do they not communicate to the customer exactly what is going on. We didn't get a choice on the by out then they tease and then leave us hanging? Poor Customer Service in my opinion.
