For those that have converted how many of you are thinking of staying with AT&T and how many of you are thinking of going elsewhere? And why in both cases.

I live in southern utah Hurricane to be exact. I called them today and they told me the 24th of May. I'm not holding my breath they keep moving it back. I to am verry annoyed with this already. Call the transition number it's on the paperwork that came with your new phones. But whatever date they give you is probably just guess work on their part. They'll get around to it when they get around to it.

Gazelle.com seems to be quite a good deal. I got 70 bucks for my old HTC Hero. I see they are offering 124 for the wildfire. Seems like they are legitimate and there are even some coupon codes out there. I could probably get more off of ebay but I don't like the hassle of it.

Rapid City, SD - We have two accounts - iPhones with transition code 4CP1, transition date April 20 and the other is free swap-out phones staying with an old Alltel plan transition code 4CP4 with transition date being April 27.
It appears we were transitioned between 3-4:00AM judging by the emails and messages to phones. The old Blackberry was receiving messages until 6:30 AM, with a failed text message shortly after that point. At this point, it appears everything is working well.
I received my text message for a May 3rd transition for group 4D. My billing location is in the western side of ND.
Rapid City SD - Today was transition day for our iPhone account. I have had a number of calls on the new activated iPhone and I am a little surprised. The sound quality is better than my Blackberry on Alltel and the landline (Knology). The sound quality is crisp and clean and I wish my landline was able to have the same quality of sound.
I called ATT to check on the plan and to be sure to have the best plan in place. A few minor changes were made which provides more features for the same price. I am thrilled with everything at this point.
We have four iPhones on this account and all transitioned smoothly and are working quite nicely.
Manistee, MI- My family switched from Alltel to Verizon in December due to poor rate plans (didn't want smart choice) and poor phone selection. Alltel has a tower location that serves where they live and is the only provider on that tower. ATT/native Verizon/Sprint/Nextel all work very poorly. The switch to Verizon was fine because the phones would roam on Alltel at the house. Now they have received ATT phones in the mail and were told that they will be forced to switch mid-May. ATT couldn't provide me with any more information, and Verizon said that they will be unable to port the number back after the ATT switch. In other words, to go back to Verizon they would need new phone numbers. This is unacceptable. One of the three numbers is used regularly for business. They are also upset that they have invested money in Verizon phones / activations fees which might be useless. What are their available options? Is there any 'executive' department at Verizon that can help? Do they need to port back to Alltel after they are switched to ATT to ultimately land on Verizon again in the fall?
In Yankton, SD. Some customers transitioned today. It apparently went bad.
At 6:21 PM last night I got this text:"Your srvc moves to AT&T on 4/21."
At 3:54 PM today I got this text: "Your transition to AT&T on 4/21 is delayed. Continue to use your Alltel device. New date will be sent soon."
I'm not upset. I don't really care; my Alltel service continues to work just fine. I do find it comical, though. In less than 24 hours they went from "Ready!" to "Delayed!" I gues some people may have been right. They do have their heads up their asses. Whatever. I ain't going anywhere. I'll use soup cans and a string before I use VZW.
This confusion can easily be avoided if you pronounce the word intended aloud. If it has a voiced Z sound, then it’s “lose.” If it has a hissy S sound, then it’s “loose.” Here are examples of correct usage: “He tends to lose his keys.” “She lets her dog run loose.”
Loose
not rigidly fastened or securely attached
Lose
to miss from one's possession or from a customary or supposed place
Also, just because a word has an "s" at the end, doesn't mean it needs an apostrophe.
For Western MT:
Coverage from Polson to Ravalli: 2-4 bars in 3G
Coverage from Ravalli to just outside Arlee: 3-5 bars Edge
Coverage from just outside Arlee to bottom of Evaro Hill: hit and miss and bounced from Edge to GPRS
Coverage from Evaro Hill to all of Missoula 3-5 bars in 3G.
Ill recheck it again tomorrow when I head back to Missoula but the only real bad spot for coverage on 93 from Polson to Missoula was from "dirty corner" outside of Arlee to the bottom of Evaro Hill...other than that i was primarily in around a 4-Bar 3G coverage....I am using a HTC Aria
Got a text today saying my transition date is May 4th. Phone number based out of Grand Forks, ND. Billing address out of Dickinson, ND.
I've decided to switch back over to Verizon. While AT&T's customer service has been very helpful, the last straw for me today was a conference call I had with a co-worker and a vendor where nobody was able to hear me unless I was standing on my front porch. Because I'm frequently the sole IT tech on-call at the hospital where I work, I must be able to reliably make and receive phone calls when I'm at home.
This, unfortunately, is another nail in the coffin for me. I can't afford to wait for months to see if coverage improves or even to spend my own money to purchase a microcell to make up for a network deficiency when Verizon has great coverage around my house now. I'm dissapointed, especially because I live within 2 miles of the Kalispell city limits and next to the big airport here, not out in some remote mountain encampment.![]()
Clay, I appreciate you taking the time to research and answer my questions. You have definitely helped me to make a decision that is well-informed and that I'm comfortable with.
Sioux Falls SD 2 IPhone lines transitioned today no problems what so ever. Great signal. Good data speeds.
