HTC Desire now free!!! (on 3 year contract)

Hey people, 3 questions.....

1) Anyone thinking about picking this up? I've been waiting, hoping for the HTC Desire HD, (had the Desire Z and returned it), but for $0 it's pretty tempting. (Even tho I hate contracts, but I have a descent plan right now on mth to mth, so it wouldn't kill me to sign one)

2) Did the 2.2 make the phone any better and does it include HTC locations or did Telus not include it?

3) How is the battery life, as I have read mixed reviews? Having to charge my phone every night is not an issue for me.

Great info. I like this offer. But it will be problem. Because of 3 year contract system. In three years many new gadgets will be come. I am quite impress with this phone. It should be very competitive for Iphones and Windows phones.

I was half way into my 3 year (Samsung M540, which is a ___) and paid the $95 Cdn upgrade fee and $35 Cdn transfer fee to get the Desire for $0. For me it was worth it as I'm very happy with the phone and the bundle I have now.

dang I think it's a really good deal! From all the reviews and another friend who has this phone I think it is pretty awesome. I am getting mine tomorrow but I had to buy it off contract so I paid a heck of a lot more then free!

I'm rocking a Desire ATM and love it. You can't pass it up at that price. You will have to settle on a fone sooner or later since there will always be "something better" lurking in the shadows.
