Zio by Cricket is not good

Have had a Cricket Zio for 3 months and it is terrible. Dial pad gives me a 3 when I touch a 1 and other similar issues -- so as a phone it is useless and as an internet device the touch screen is very inconsistent -- sometime it works and sometimes it does not.
It also has the old android software and is not upgradeable.
    Don't buy one.

My girlfriend just got her new Sprint version of the Zio. What a piece of @#$% that thing is. The touchscreen is awful. When you hold it Portrait and try to text your guaranteed that 75% of the touches are wrong and it registeres to the left of where you type. Also when she tries to dial a number on the dialer it just doesnt respond and when you rotate it to portrait you can get about three letters in a text message and it just quits responding altogether. She has already called customer service and she is getting the Lg Optimus S which is the cousin to my LG Vortex and I have no problems with the touchscreen on mine. Dont get the Zio and Sprint should pull it off the market immediately. The lady at sprint said they were having alot of problems with the ZIO's.

I have a Zio and I keep seeing how other people have trouble with them, and I don't! It lags a little bit but I downloaded the app AutoKiller and I havent had any probloms with that at all. The keyboard does suck, but come on now, it's android, just download another one if you don't like it! lol i give the Zio 3 1/2 stars out of 5. Maybe 4 at the end of the month when it receives the 2.x update.

I've had mine for a week now and I love it. Has 2.2 on it. Touch takes some getting used to. I notice I have to touch the top of the key I want and it generally works. Might try Swype or other keyboard. The only issue I have is sometimes when I go to wake it after a long time it doesn't respond right away.

I got it from sprint because it was free, the touch keyboard takes some time to get used to i got the best keyboard 8 and use the t9 but you have to swipe from the compact qwerty to the left to get t9 keyboard each time. I am waiting for the nexus to come to sprint or the htc 3d and upgrade.

Its an amazing phone, but not out of the box. Autokiller is a must for this device. For battery life I use CPU Master free. I rooted mine, themed it, changed the default launcher, and now it's like a whole new phone. I've had mine since launch day and at times have been very frustrated with it, but once you tweak it a bit with apps (most of which don't even require root) it's a quick little thing that does what I need it to do.
    Kyocera Zio, rooted
    OpenZio theme, Zeam Launcher
840 Bench, yes my Zio is faster then yours is

I'd go for Z4Root, it's free and easy to use. It's also reversible should you need to upgrade your firmware.

Zio is upgradeable - check with Cricket

Go to a good Cricket store and they can upgrade the software.

That's AZZ-U-MING the phone doesn't freeze up to the point where the only way you can turn it off is TAKE OUT THE BATTERY !!!!!

The reason I say this is because I've had this happen before. The first time was just shortly after I got my phone. It happened just shortly after I started a CSI: NY video with the TV.com app. The second (And thus far the last) time was just last night when I was attempting to place a shortcut on the homescreen

    So bear that in mind.....

    Cheers
