Where's the dialtone?
just wondering if anyone knows how i can put my own ringtones onto this phone.. i figured i'd be able to now that i have a smart phone but nope, same as the rest

I've climbed a cellphone tower
I've never had a Moto Android, but on my HTC Magic and Samsung Captivate I use Handcent instead of the stock Messaging app. Handcent is way cool, very customizable (background images, tones, fonts, noticfications, security, quick reply popup ect ect). You have to turn off noticfications in the stock app or you will get 2 notifications (very annoying).
For setting custom tones everywhere I use Rings Extended. It's not a app you open. It comes up as a option when choosing tones.
There are a ton of Ringtone apps in the Market. Ringdroid is a good one. It allows you to make your own tones from your MP3's right on your phone. There are also many apps that allow you to download free tones. Ringlert is one that comes to mind, but there are quite a few.
