    Rogers official Unlocking

    http://mobilesyrup.com/2010/12/14/ro...device-for-50/

Rogers now offers to unlock your device for $50. I know its still a ripoff since you get a unlock code for under $30.

But my question i whether they will unlock an iPhone?

For most phones, meh. Now, for the iPhone? That's kinda cool! Welcome to the rest of the world, Rogers!

Of course, this was prompted by the Bell, and Telus move...

Telus/Koodo was first, they announced unlocking last week which prompted Rogers/Fido to launch theirs today

Bell actually offered it first, at $75 a pop though.

Ya true, but they never openly admitted to doing it, so it doesn't count

They should unlock all phones that were fully purchased, or if it was subsidized then unlock it at the end of the term. But yeah, you can get it unlocked for a cheaper rate or even unlock most phones yourself with the right tools and skill set.

I paid $20 to unlock my HTC Desire Z because I was so eager that I needed to play with it at work (bought it at lunch time LOL)... 15 minutes after I got home and setup on the computer I discovered how to unlock it for free. Ah well

Ya but you can't unlock an iPhone through a third party, especially a iPhone 4 running 4.1

    Folks,

iPhone unocking involves IMEI submitted to the Apple "white list". I believe Bell and TELUS are not offering unlocking for iPhone.

It's true. As well, Library does not exclude ANY device from the list.

So just call, pay $50, Rogers unlocks your iPhone 4? Wow! Colour me impressed.

Why buy unlocked from Apple anymore? $269+$50 is a lot cheaper than $759.

Time to test this, calling Rogers now.

You have to buy unsubsidized for them to unlock. Or have completed a 3 year term. Or pay ECF for termination.
