Yes, you can go and sign a new contract today. But if you can hang in there a couple months, you'll be contract-free on AT&T! And yes, you have a 30-day return period after transition when you can cancel your service.

Hello,
I'm not quite sure I understand what my options are. I currently have a dumb phone and have 4 others under my plan. I'm in group 4 for the ATT transition and have a contract that is >2 years old. My current phone is having serious back light issues.
Can I renew my contract with alltel and get a new phone for a couple months before I get my att phone?
Will the new contract be with ATT but sold from an alltel store?
If service isn't adequate after the transition am I free to close my contract?

I ended up stopping into a store. I will try to hold out because if I sign a new contract a similar plan will cost about 30% more than what I'm currently at.
those on the waiting list at the sprint stores, how long are y'all waiting?
