APN type just put *
that way MMS works with it too
PS: how well does it work on WIND? I just ordered mine this morning, hoping to get it soon!

Finally got the data working. So ya as others have noted it doesn't show the wind home or away sign which can be dangerous for pay after users like me.
So after being able to register the phone via wifi I was able to mess around with various apn settings till it worked.
Apn name doesn't matter the Apn just needs to be internet.windmobile.ca
Another thing that made a difference was the Apn type. Internet didn't work nor did default, supl but default worked.
So in conclusion to get data to work with nexus s on wind network make sure of the following:
APN: internet.windmobile.ca
APN Type: default
APN type just put *
that way MMS works with it too
PS: how well does it work on WIND? I just ordered mine this morning, hoping to get it soon!
Hi.
So i also got mine working but it shows 302490 instead of WIND home as the network......that is really a non-issue for me.
Data and calling both work fine.
You do not need to worry about WIND away when your pay after because if you go to *#*#4636#*#* you can set it to WCDMA only (which is WIND Home only) therefore you have no chance of connecting to WIND Away.

The opinions stated here are my own, not necessarily those of my employer.
in terms of showing wind home/wind away they probably haven't added the device to their database yet, which is probably why it didn't work initially.
I'm pretty sure that WIND Home / Away is determined by the sim card. Any "non-Wind" phone I've used my wind sim card in has shown wind's network as WIND Home and any roaming networks within the country as WIND Away.
I called a bunch of Bestbuy stores in buffalo early this morning. All the same answer, they were out of stock by mid-day yesterday, and said they might get some units in stock once every 4-5 days. But with the holiday season its going to be busy and difficult to get one.
When you are on Wind Away, it will just say Rogers Communications, so it's really a non-issue, it's just less pretty.
it was close to $660 CAD after tax, exchange, duty, etc.
