Everything fine except can't receive MMS from others on my factory unlocked Iphone 4, running 4.3.3, jailbroken. I see where this has been an issue for some Straight Talk users with E71's, etc. All APN settings are good, can send MMS to myself & receive it, but those sent by family and friends never show up. Suggestions?

Although I ported my # over to ST, I am thinking of porting it to Google Voice at the end of the month. I am a little concerned that ST might go rouge and do something with my # if they ever find out i'm using an Iphone. Is anyone else concerned too? Anyone using Google voice with straight talk?
I wouldn't be too worried. As long as you stay under 2GB of data a month, you should be fine.
I'm sure they care more about how much you cost them (in usage) over if you took out the SIM.

I'm having problems with mms. I'm running 4.3.3 jailbreak data, text, and talk are working fine. I installed the tether program and it put my 3gs in safe mode. So I uninstalled it. Back up and running. I was trying to skim this thread and ran past a repo http://cydia.d23.com.uy/ i added the package and restarted my iphone. what am I missing or is that out of date? I'm just trying to get MMS working... HELP
I accidentally used up 1.2 GB overnight. Should I be concerned? I've only had it a few days! I had my E71 tethering to my Droid, which is set to download podcasts at night. So i only realized it in the morning....
dont be concerned about 1.2gb overnight....1 month I used 50gb I had my phone connected to my labtop running torrents....I got suspended and then I called in and told them I left utube on LOL they unfroze my account and I have been good for 6 months now
Yeah, its a cause for concern. I would lay off the data use for the rest of the month. Always stay under 2GB a month to be on the safe side and avoid large data use in a single day.
From others, its been observed that a lot of data use in a single day is just as bad as using a lot a month.
And as the poster said above, just play dumb if they call.

I ordered my referb E7 on Friday. Getting a co-worker's 3gs as soon as she gets her new phone. I am hoping thatthe correct SIM will be in the E7 box. A few questions:
Does the 2GB "cap" relate only to the iphone use or all StraightTalk phones?
Once she hands over her 3gs phone to me, what do I do to clear her personal data out of it... clear it in itunes?
Am I correct that she does not need to have AT&T unlock it?
Is there a problem is she does get it unlocked?
Sorry for all the questions, but I just stumbled upon this conversion to iphone procedure last week.
Thanks!
There is no official cap, but have fun when they turn off your data or even worse terminate your account for excessive data usage. How much data do you think you can even use on an E71 with their draconian terms saying no video streaming, etc? I'd say breaking 250MB a month on the E71 is not very easy and breaking 1GB is very hard.
Restore in iTunes or go to Settings and Reset it
No unlock needed and AT&T won't ever unlock one of their iPhones anyways.
Thanks for the info.
I need help getting MMS with my iphone 3gs. I tried the tethered program and it crashed the phone. I read through this thread with no hope. Any other suggestions?
