My son has ios 5 on his iphone 4 working with no problems.![]()
iPhone 4S is being sold without contacts directly from Apple Stores. The new iPhone 4S is a single SKU that works on Sprint, Verizon, or AT&T out of the box here in the US. Depending on how Apple sets it up for you initially. I think this will be a goldmine device!
Anyhow, I have two friends using iPhone 4S on ST without incident... the only issue is price, $649 and UP without the contract is pretty steep.

If I jailbreak the iPhone, I was wondering about the warranty? What happens if I ever have to take the phone into the Apple store? Do I leave the jail break on or do I format the phone back to factory settings before taking it in?
I just upgraded to the IOS 5 and you do not get the MMS as previously posted. Everything is working fine with my iPhone 3GS with e71 chip except for the following MMS and group texting. Time to jailbreak again.
Shouldnt have listened to the previous post.

I don't think iOS 5 permits you to MMS without a jailbreak. This is no different than iOS 4; However, if there IS an issue with MMS even with a jailbreak and the proper APN settings, then we may have a problem.
"In order to transfer your number, the system is telling me we have to send you a new SIM card." - 5 activation reps at Straight Talk
This is my experience so far this morning. I got my refurbished Nokia E71 from ST this morning by Fedex. I went online to port my phone number and it gave me a red message to call. I called in and went through the process to port my number, and they told me this:
"In order to transfer your number, you will need a new SIM card as this one is invalid."
Now, I know as well as you that the P SIM card is the trick and I do not want to monkey with that. I look at my new SIM card and it is indeed a P. So, I ask the rep one question... "Why do you need to send me a new SIM card?"
She replies, "This one is invalid." I go back in to 5 year old inquisitive mode and say, "Why?"
"The system tells me that, one second I will get someone else..." She then transfers me to another rep.
I repeat the process to port my iPhone's phone number from AT&T to Straight Talk and guess what, same message.
I asked the rep the same question, "Why?".
He replies, "This one is invalid for number transfers from AT&T." Again, I go into 5 year old mode... "Why?"
"The system is telling me this." I said, ok nevermind.
I repeated this a few times with the same results. On the last attempt, I asked to just activate the SIM with a new number and the guy says ok, it is now active.
Hmmm.... have they caught on?
No, they have not caught on. They have to send you a "P" SIM, their special locked SIMs don't work in the Nokia smartphones.
straight talk called about my data usage... i have a straight talk sim in an iphone 4... what should i do besides use wifi more often ?????
@DarkFalcon: Was everything cleared with your AT&T account? And did you have all the correct information?? It sounds to me like there may have been an issue with AT&T letting your "old" number port over.
hey straight talk called about my data usage... i have the nokia sim in my iphone 4... what should i do besides try to use wifi more....?
