That is correct. However with the iPhone 4S (So Far), each one is getting unlocked when they plug into iTunes.

If your iPhone is on iOS 4 or earlier, then you must plug into iTunes and activate the phone. It will activate with the ST SIM card.

I have not, but most of these folks are not connecting to iTunes. Everyone I have seen so far, about 23 at this moment, unlock when connected to iTunes. This is the key.

or did the ISO 5 recognize & leave the Straight Talk profile info ... ?

Wondering, can't we place an update in teh BEGINNING of this thread to include iOS 5 on the iPhone 4..It would make life ALOT easier for all..Just a thought , Thanks and Enjoy.
And I'm not kidding..I am selling or trading my current e71 AND iPhone 4 for a nice ANDROID version that will work on ST..Tired of having to buy all the iStuff and no DUN , blue tooth really , well pretty much non existant and other reasons..Please PM me for details,,Hope this is allowed, if not please let me know where to post such info..Sorry if I bad..I just had to try iphone but really love the android LESS ADVERTISING better.If I had to put up with ads and verizon ? I'd keep the iphone

So i can send and receive texts and mms. but when i try to text one of my friends who has an android, droid x i think, my text gets to him but he cant text me back. is there something i can do or can i just not text him?

Did you port your number over to ST? Maybe a problem with the port.
What carrier is he on? Can other people using that carrier text you as well?

Hi guys, we all know ST is $45 ($50 with tax) for unlimited talk, text and data with a soft 2G cap.

Lots of people on other forums are talking about using AT&Ts $50 plan on a Factory Unlocked iPhone. Does anyone know anything about that plan..maybe they dont have the Soft Data Cap like ST does.

You won't get data as long as AT&T's system picks it up as a Smartphone. Its $50 everything for dumbphones, but $50 only talk/txt for smartphones. Theres no cap, but you do pay $25 for 500MB.

A friend of mine just bought me a iPhone 4S as a gift (for no reason, just a gift) And I was able to e-mail the .config file from post 1 to myself and data started working. Im sure you guys already knew that, but I figured I would put it out there. 4S confirmed to work.

@MrRomeo: Did your friend get it as a device only purchase? Not at a subsidized purchase from any of the retailers??

The reason I ask is because I bought a at&t i4s from eBay. It came sealed and NIB (yay!). However I have issues activating the phone because the sellers number comes up at the activation screen and it requests i input his zip code and SS# (last 4 digits) for verification purposes.

I've tried connecting to iTunes, popping in my ST sim, DFU restore mode but I cannot seem to disassociate the i4s with the seller. It seems to be "locked" and "married" like some of ST's phones!! Any help or suggestions?! Feel free to message me :-)

I'm coming from an iPhone4 on ST and have jailbreaking and unlocking experience since 2007 (the first iPhone!)

Anyone is welcome to help!

Im not sure where he got it from, but these (the one he got for me and the one he got for himself) were already activated and at the home screen when I got it. Both were brand new in the box, but the box was opened and the sims removed. I didnt ask, I was just happy to get a gift like this out of the blue! My guess is, some guy bought it on his account using up his upgrade and sold it for 3 times as much. My friend has money to burn so I dont doubt he paid $600 for each phone.

The problem you are having seems very weird, and the only thing I can think of is that he ordered it online, so they put in a verification lock in case it gets lost or stolen in the mail. Contact the buyer and ask him to help. Otherwise, I would take the whole phone with the box to Apple and have them take care of it. Just be honest and tell them you bought it on ebay.
