FYI, don't rely on walmart.com to find out if your local walmart has the E71 in stock. Walmart.com said my local store did not have any in stock, but when I went there in person today they had three in stock! I picked one up just in case I decide to do this.
BTW, is there a way to activate without sharing any personal information?
I have been unable to jailbreak my phone with green poision, what else may i use, i have iphone 3g running 4.2.1, I read somewhere where greenpoision would not jailbreak an iphone 3g
Has anyone activated an iphone using the straight talk sim card. My Ebay iphone was wiped and will need to be reactivated but it was shipped without the original sim card (as they all are). The phone and itunes seems to accept the straight talk card is a valid sim card but I haven't actually followed through with the activation sequence since I don't know if it will screw up my ST activation or service. Has anyone tried activating an iphone on itunes using the ST card?
find ANY old at&t sim and hook it up to itunes and let it do it the activation (actually if you just plug it in usually it will activate just sitting there)
If you are running windows 7, make sure you run it in windows XP SP2 compatibility mode, and also right click on redsn0w and run as administrator. Some 64bit systems have a problem running JB apps, if you still have a problem, borrow a laptop from someone running 32bit OS and try again. You can also try Sn0wbreeze 2.2.1, it should work with Win7 64bit, google it, their main website is something like ih8snow.com or something.

Question about SIM card cutting for a phone other then iPhone
I just finished reading 28 pages of this post (took a few hours and was well worth it) Now that Im educated Im going to make a go of this with the E71 thru the awesomely easy directions from MrRomeo (thank you)
We currently have Tmo PP for 70.00/month using my MT3G unlocked cell.
All I want to know before I drive over to the Wally World is:
Does the E71 SIM need to be cut to fit into the MT3G?
I have never even used an iphone so I do not know anything about their SIM size though it appears from reading here, it is obviously smaller on the iPhone.
I know we will only be getting 2G with the MT3G Tmo cell and I need to change some settings for it to work on ATT but ST will save us 25.00 per month as of now and Im all for saving money! (Who isnt--LOL)
Then we will get our first iphone. ( I know we are way behind in technology for sure)

Almost every phone sold in America uses the same size SIM chip. The one in the E71 will fit the MT3G. Its the newer iPhone 4 that takes the smaller micro-SIM card.

Have you considered Simple Mobile instead? You'll have to use Straight Talk for over 13 months before you break even in savings once you factor in the cost of the E71. Plus, your mytouch will get 3G on Simple Mobile.
Straight Talk with the E71 SIM is a great deal for using an AT&T exclusive phone and it's really the only option for inexpensive iPhone service with 3G data, but for T-Mobile phones you'll want to take a look at Simple Mobile, since they don't require a phone purchase to get the SIM.
