OMG now it says "where's the dial tone?"?????!!!!!!
Yesterday I ported my old # to a new ST Iphone size sim card by mistake. It did not fit the E71. I tried it in the iphone anyway and the phone and text worked. Today I hooked up to my home wireless which is working. Right now I cannot recieve or send email. I have Cydia,Sam prefs, and Safari on the ap screen but when I tap them they each open but quickly close. What should I do next to get the email working. Thanks
If I only used method1 to get the internet to work on my 3GS without jailbreaking it for MMS am i still able to update the latest OS on my Iphone through Itunes without it locking up my Iphone?
Thanks for the help, I backed it up, restored and now I am recieving emails and Safari opened up. I lost cydia and sams pref as I expected. I thought I would have lost safari but its still there. Thanks again

Do I need to jailbreak even if I have a factory unlocked iphone 4 to get MMS working?
If its factory unlocked you should have the "Cellular Data Network" icon in settings.
My recent experience, after getting my official unlock from ATT for my 3GS, is that Cellular Data Network will not just magically appear under Settings>General>Network. See my recent post here (http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...1#post14848901) for a discussion of the options for getting MMS working.
As I said in that post, I would either jailbreak or try the TMO sim swap. I'm personally glad I went the jailbreak route. It's allowed me to add an incredible amount of helpful functionality to my phone. I'm actually not looking forward to iOS 6!!
You are right. The Cellular Data Network tab is only visible when using a non AT&T sim. All MVNO are considered AT&T so is isnt visible.
I just bought the AT&T LG Nitro HD phone and put my sim card out of my Nokia E71 in it and now every thing works but no data service cant get on the internet no youtube or email unless im on my wifi at home need help please.
