Re the first link, I may have that bookmarked wrong. When on the phone with the tablet support guy, I gave him my info but I had to reenter after the call on the link except my credit card number was not given over the phone.

And again, are you sure it was the tablet support group that activated it? If it is activated by the regular people as a prepaid cell, you will not be able to add data.
I can verify the account says it's on the tablet plan. However it would seem that, in the back end, every prepaid tablet SIM is also associated with what looks like a prepaid cell account with zero dollars in it. Using certain APN settings, this account info can be viewed from the self serve page. Under details it says something tablet related.

When I went to the second link and tried to register to add tablet data, I explicitly selected $15/250 MB. However it didn't complete correctly. The $15 ended up in the cell account rather than being used to purchase data.

Anyway I just renewed my PC Mobile SIM for 2 more months of data so this is a moot point for now. Thanks for your input!

    Hey Guys,

I read through this and everything is confusing as hell. I guess I just need some simple answers. I had to get a blackberry at work so they bought out my contract and signed me up to their corporate plan. I am an Android Fanboy I would like to get a tablet. My old phone is a HTC Incredible S that I am more than capable of wirelessly tethering from. The tablet I am looking at is the Asus Transformer, but I would also like the ability to use a laptop if I needed to do any IT work. The flexplan is the most usefull but I don't want to be limited to just a single device. I should be able to use the data I purchase on any device I want.

If I get a tablet plan (most likely the flexplan) can I just put that sim into my HTC Incredible S and wirelessly tether to a non-3g ready tablet that can receive wifi without getting charged out the poopshoot for tethering?

    EDIT:

Got through to a Bell Rep:

Welcome to bell.ca! You are chatting with Carole . To assist you, may I please have your name and mobile phone number with area code?
Carole : Hello and welcome to Bell Mobility's chat service. How can I help you today?
Cory Recsky: Hello Carole, I'm not currently a Bell customer but I am looking into becoming one. I have a few questions.
Carole : I can certainly assist you with this. Go ahead.
Cory Recsky: I would like to wirelessly tether with an extra phone I have to a tablet and possibly a laptop. Would the tablet flex plan work for this? I ask because it is the best bang for my buck it seems.
Carole : Would you mind waiting a few minutes while I verify this information for you please?
Cory Recsky: I have no problem waiting.
Carole : Thank you very much.
Carole : Included data in those plans can be used for tethering.
Cory Recsky: Alright, thanks. So I am able to use that plan on a smartphone, even though it is a Tablet Plan?
    Carole : Yes definately!
Cory Recsky: I shouldn't get charged extra for tethering either?
Carole : No, it is included in the plan you will chose. For example if you go with a plan that includes 500mb, tethering will be taken from that.
Cory Recsky: I would likely go with the flexplan that would bump me up if I went over the 500mb.
Carole : Great choice. If you do that, there is no extra cost either. You will just use the data included in the plan.
Cory Recsky: Alright, thanks for this information. It has helped me be alot less confused.
Carole : It was my pleasure. Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Cory Recsky: No thank you, that was all I needed to know.
Carole : Thank you for chatting with me. Please click the "Close" button on the top right of the chat window to tell me how I did today. Have a great day!"

bell wont let me activate on phone with ipad or galaxy tab

    I called 1 866 222 9026
I gave my sim card number, rep said SIM is new and can be activated for tablet.
But he said for prepaid it will only work on ipad or galaxy tab.
If I wanted to activate without ipad or galaxy tab I would have to go post paid which I have to pay 35$ activation.

So what should I say when I call so they can activate my SIM for prepaid tablet.

    thanks

^Tell them you are going to use it on I pad, the other option is go into best buy or future shop and see if they have a pre activated prepaid sim cards for tablet or I pad. I know they have pre-activated one for Rogers

I went to futureshop they don't have pre activated SIM for bell
They say they can activate it but it will be for montly plan and I would have to pay 35$
    They can't activate for prepaid.
If I call them and say that I will use for ipad and I give them an IMEI from a old phone, will it work? Does it have to be in an ipad to activate?

    Thanks
