I got a Sprint version I used to use when I had Sprint. Its not a bad little phone and for 80 bucks thats a helluva deal for a prepaid smartphone. They just don't have nearly the apps that Android has but they do have some good radio apps such as Slacker, Pandora, Accuradio, ect and it does have a good Youtube app too.
Only bad things: can't be used on daily plan. Can't be used on Verizon mvnos.
Whine, whine, whine. You and everyone else knows how VZW operates by now.
You're getting a real smartphone with use of the HTML internet, which is what everyone was screaming for a year ago--and you're p-o'ed about not being able to take it to other carriers? Spare us all.

It appears the real price of the phone is actually $115, since they add a $35.00 "activation fee" to online orders, and the only way to order this phone is online. Is there any way around that? I was thinking about maybe calling 611 to see if it can be swapped to an existing line.
So going to order one online, of course you have to buy a month of service too, but then a strange thing happens. They never add the required data package, or even mention anything about data. It appears that only the monthly $44.99 is required. Did they really get rid of adding the mandatory $30.00 data, or is the Verizon website just more of a train wreck than usual?

If someone already has a Verizon phone like say for example, the Pixi, does Verizon still charge you $35 when you go online to activate it with a prepaid plan?
No I dont think they do. I activated my Vortex by dialing *22898 and there was no charge. You can pick your plan and all that while on the automated system. It is easy to do.

How do you like the monthly prepaid so far from Verizon with your android phone?
I like it. The only difference I have from someone with a post paid acct is when I roam (which is rare) it charges .20 cents a minute and no data. Texting still works and there is no extra charge for it. I just hope maybe they will offer a little cheaper plan in the future. I get the same service as if I was on postpaid. Data speeds are good as postpaid customers. There is no visual voicemail right now though its not a big deal to me. I pay 94.99 for my plan which is the 450 day mins plus unlimited text for 20 and unlimited data for 30.00. With 6% KY sales tax I pay aound 101.00 as long as I dont roam. Its not cheap, but worth it for what I get.
