HTC Touch Pro 2 UNLOCKED - Can I use this with straight talk? PLEASE HELP

I am currently using an iPhone with ST (SIM i took from a nokia E71.

I want to know if it is possible to use the SIM with an unlocked AT&T HTC Touch Pro 2.

Is there WEB/WAP settings available so the web will work on this without wifi?

And is there picture message settings I can configure?

Please help me, i do not want to buy this HTC and it not work.

    Thanks for any help.

Maybe for Edge only, I doubt 3G would work.

HTC Inspire from At&t with Straight talk

so for sure it wont work with any of the cheaper phone sim cards? I just ordered the new HTC off ebay, & I wanna make sure so I know which straight talk phone to get, a cheap one or the e71. The inspire is At&t & it will be unlocked & rooted. Will I still need to change any configurations & if so what do I do? Thank-you. email me or text me 509.380.8117

Only the SIM cards from the two Nokias will work. Recommend you go with the E-71 as the other is much less popular.

To ease your mind.. The phone will work, and you will receive 3G with AT&T on the 850 MHz band. However, it must be unlocked for AT&T 3G to work.

    Hope this helps!,

Edit: I didn't realize that this post was old..

    TMobile MyTouch 3G Android

I have NO idea about this whole concept and I'm not very technical, but I have an unlocked Tmobile Mytouch 3G. I have Straight Talk service through TracFone... Will my Straight Talk SIM work with the Tmobile phone?

You do not give enough information for others to make an informed statement. As previously mentioned in this thread and others, only a SIM card from a Straight Talk Nokia 6790 or E71 will allow you to put the SIM card into another GSM phone. I would advise you to stick to AT&T-branded phones. They have the correct frequencies and do not have to be unlocked. Many T-Mobile phones have the WAP and MMS settings hard coded into the firmware. The buttons might try to take you to a T-Mobile URL.

Yes, connect your iphone to wifi, then go to unlockit.co.nz on your iphone, select custom APN, click the carrier box and scroll intill you find US- Straight Talk then click create profile, wait for it to load then click install on apn carrier settings. restart your phone and your data should no be working. (make sure you disabled wifi to make sure 3g is working)

    Use att.mvno as APN.

So, if I am understanding this correctly, I need a 6790 or E71 SIM card for my T-mobile myTouch 4G to work on straight talk (with good data speeds)? Is that right?
If so, how do I go about getting one of those cards?

My second problem is that I put a ST SIM in the phone and was expecting a "Network Locked" message. However, I didn't get anything more than "No Service". I would like to think that maybe the phone is already unlocked, but I doubt it. I am getting an unlock code from T-mobile, so that's not really an issue. The issue is, if I get the code and I don't get the message "Network Locked", how do I unlock the damn thing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere or you find this a n00b question. (I have been searching for this answer for about 4 hours tonight)

To get 4G speeds on a tmobile phone you need to be on a tmobile tower - a tmobile phone can't do 4G on an AT&T tower. (And an AT&T phone can't do 4G on a tmobile tower.) It has nothing to do with locking either - the two carriers use different frequencies for 4G.

If you don't get a "locked" message, either you're using a tmobile SIM or the phone is already unlocked. In either case you don't have to unlock it.
