E71 - Unable to receive SMS messages from Sprint and Verizon

I am unable to receive any SMS messages sent from Sprint or Verizon cell phone. My outgoing SMS messages are delivered ok (including to Sprint and Verizon cell phones), however, when the recipient replies to my message I don't receive them.

Any idea on how to trouble shoot this problem? ST customer support was not of great help.

If its like my trouble, ST simply forgot to turn on the feature. Took 3 weeks and hours on the phone with ST.
Try ST on Facebook and maybe you will get faster results

Is there any other information about this? I've been going back and forth with Straight Talk support via facebook/email and they're saying it's a Sprint issue and not Straight Talk (but they'll keep "investigating")

I am having this exact same issue. Did your problem ever get resolved? If so, please post how/what they did to resolve it so I can get mine fixed as well.

    Thanks.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I got the problem resolved yesterday.

After I initially reported the problem, I did not follow-up on the issue, but then I started missing SMS messages from business partners, and I had to act on it. After doing a google search, I found the following URL, which was a thread/discussion about the same problem.

    Here is what I did.

    1) Used Facebook to log a support ticket.

    http://www.facebook.com/StraightTalk...24192170958476

    2) Forwarded the ticket to ELombillo@tracfone.com

    3) Got a response from the Executive Resolutions Dept at Straight Talk Wireless, asking me to contact them at 1-800-876-5753

    4) Spent about an hour on the phone with the customer support rep from the ERD team troubleshooting the problem.

After doing some resets, they ended up in "reprovisioning" the number by contacting AT&T. That fixed the problem.

BTW, it will help if you have a second phone # with Verizon or Sprint while you on the phone with the ERD group.

    Best of luck.
