I bought a Rocket to use with my mac while I am on the road. I use a mytouch 3g with a flexpay account and figured if I buy this webconnect item I can just pop the sim card in and connect easily to the internet.
When i put the rocket to work after all installation etc, I just get stuck on the Tmobile screen when I try to connect via Safari.
Am I doing something wrong or did I miss a step somewhere somehow?
I hope to get this workingThanks in advance for any help.
Two things could be happening. 1. If you don't have a webconnect plan, you don't get access. Just a page saying you need the proper plan. You can try changing the apn to internet2.voicestream.com and i was able to get it to work for a while but they usually find out rather quickly.
Do note that webconnect devices do NOT offer roaming of any type. I put my voice sim card (with smartphone internet) into my dell mini netbook and it worked fine when in t-mobile coverage but the minute i was roaming, it immediately stopped working. You get an error page saying your plan does not allow roaming. (On i wireless no less. It's part owned by t-mobile but you can't data roam on webconnect devices). Webconnect plans have roaming disabled via network. A properly provisioned sim card won't even connect to anything other than t-mobile. Sucks, got this netbook from t-mobile and half the time i find myself tethering with my HD2. ugh...
