I need help updating EnV Touch Firmware to version 09-

I used the LG Mobile support tool to update my phones firmware to the newest version, Because the Tech support guy told me that I was version 7 and I needed to update it to get my problem with the media center downloads fixed. But when I used the LG tool, It said my firmware was up to date. But it's not, It even showed it as version 7. So, I used this tutorial here- http://www.envtouch.org/discussion/1...m-any-version/ -To update it from 7 to 8, So that I could use the Lg Mobile Support Tool to update to 9. Only problem is, When I got it updated to 8, LG Mobile Support Tool still says it's up to date. How to I get this updated to the latest?

take it to a store with flash equip. or download LG NPST and flash it yourself.

if only it were as simple as taking it into the store. The store in my area, does not do firmware updates. Thats why I am here. Otherwise, I would have tried that already. If you read the included tutorial, you'd see I already did download that tool, and that I'm still having problems. I used it to update to 8, now I need to get it to 9. The lg update tool says my firmware is already up to date, but it isn't. Thats the confusing part. I'd download the newest firmware myself and use that other tool again, only I have no idea where to find it. I could find the original env firmware, but im sure that isnt the same.

Hi, I am new to the site. Would you know what i need to do to unlock security . The phone was givin to me by the orig owner but they could not unlock it with the last 4 of there number. Do i need to install latest firmware or usb drivers 1st ect. Could you explain in detail the correct steps. The phone is not yet activated.
