I am aware of any phones in that price range that can support Flash. What are you going to use Flash for? You can use the Skyfire browser to watch many Flash videos.

Hi All,
Looking for a cheap android phone that can support flash 10.1. I've never used android before so i want to dip my feet but at a low cost. I am in Canada on the Rogers network. Looking to spend b/w 100 and max 200.
Didn't want to hijack this thread to add flash: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...roid-2.2-phone although it seems like our interests are similar. However the phones listed there don't seem to support flash 10.1.
Thanks.

I do not know anything about inexpensive devices I believe that you always get what you pay for, but they say the devices run Android 2.2.
If an Android device is running Android 2.2 you can download Adobe Flash 10.1 from the market.
Android 2.2 is the Flash 10.1 requirement all devices that run 2.2 can run Flash 10.1
Well are you looking for a used or new phone? Used you can snag more for your price range then new. The Samsung Captivate is a great phone that can be had cheap used if you look hard. It also will work with Robbers 3G. New ones you are not going to find one with Flash and 2.2. The cheapest of the cheap is a T-Mobile Comet/Huawei Ideos U8150 which does have 2.2 and no lag and is unlockable (I have one running on AT&T) but no flash. Another good and cheap one is the LG Optimus which is also without flash.
If just wanting to try Android, then get a cheap phone like the Comet and forget about Flash and use it to try out android
Good luck
good luck..![]()
I don't think there's a cheap Android 2.2 phone that can run Flash. I heard the Optimus S does not support Flash and the Intercept, even when upgraded to 2.2, does not support Flash and it isn't available for downllad from the Market. The same seems true for other entry-level phones upgraded to 2.2, like the MyTouch 3G.
My price would be for new or used, obviosuly I would have better luck finding used at a lower cost.
Reason for wanting flash would mainly be for streaming online video, like a hockey game from NHL.com. So if the skyfire browser allows that without flash then that would be fine. I assume the other part to having flash is for games? I'm sure there are enough java games out there to fill that void for me.
Thanks all.
Can someone tell me how the Acer Liquid E compares to the LG Optimus One p500? They look to be pretty close in price (Acer is a little higher) on the resale market. The Acer seems more powerful but has much worse reviews.
Thoughts?
Can the Acer run flash 10.1?

As far as the new phones in Canada... I'm not sure you can get one for $200. Most times you have to use Skyfire browser. Either that or buy the HTC Desire HD and fork out $500 for a 4.3" Machine. The Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate/Captivate are around the same $500 price range depending on where you buy.
Maybe you can get a used one :O I don't know. Kijiji it for pricingI just know that the Desire HD actually comes with it pre-installed. I <3 this phone btw, though, the TV-Out on the Fascinate would be kinda nice for capturing the screen.
