I've got Preferred Android for $20 per line on a grandfathered family plan (500 shared minutes/unlimited nights and weekends). We've not gone over the 5GB yet.
So it possible to activate sim card with grandfather plans I have sim that not being used or do I talk to cs to change my plan around I really only use text and data not much voice.

You can not activate a sim on a grandfather plan because these plans are no longer being offered. Tmobile stopped offering these plans years ago. Current customers still have these plans because they never transitioned to current plans being offered.
Bummer oh well I guess ill keep trying I really want uncap tzone.
just spoke to kc of loyalty. she says best if person to taking over responsibility doesn't have t-mobile.
have someone you know with this plan, both of you go to tmo-owned store. have your credit checked, then ask to do a 'transfer of responsibility' using two of their existing lines from their current family plan that contain that coveted uncapped t-zones. kc says there would be no change of plan, or features, and after complete transfer, you can add 3 more lines to clone the first two.
using my plan screenshot as an example:
Pref FT 600NW = $49.99/2-lines
Pref HS@Home UL = $0
FT UL Message = $9.99
Additional Line = $9.99
Family Allowances = $0
Visual Voice Mail = $0
T-Zones/line = $2.99
Pref MyFaves = $0
I don't know anyone that even has Tmobile I'm paying 25 dollars for data that expensive when I want to only pay 5.99. I hate to leave Tmobile I like there service just hate there throttle I figure I only use 6-7gigs a month with 5gig cap can't do much with it.
Merliner,
If u know anyone that wanting to get rid of it let me know ill be more then happy to take over there line.
VOXY! i'll keep that in mind. when are you out of contract?
well, can you give your plan to another person? KC of loyalty
says it's best if you didn't have t-mo. it will keep things less
confusing.
Im stuck on a value plan with Phone Contract 15 dollars a month for 22 months i like to just sell and buy international phone and call it a deal so i can save 15 dollars a month. Well i have sim cards laying around not even being used I could always activate a new line but they charge me 50 dollar doposit.
