Oh, please let it be soon. I don't understand why it's taken so friggin' long to get ruggedized smartphones out! What's the point of a mobile phone if you can't use it outside? I already own phones that can only be used in the house, they're connected to a landline!

i really hope this phone lives up to the expectations i have for it. i used to have a samsung omnia smartphone. i didn't necessarily need it. it was more for fun and entertainment because i love gadgets and technology. i had it for about a year before i traded it in on the phone i currently have, the g'zone rock. i work in construction, so i got tired of "babying" my smartphone and never being able to actually use it because i was afraid it would get messed up. i missed so many calls because i never kept it on me. it's nice to not have to worry about your phone getting broke when your on the job. however i do miss all the capabilities of a smartphone. my g'zone rock is rather boring other than its ruggedness.

i've been going back and forth for a couple months now and whether or not to go back to a smartphone. i've been really interested in the android OS since it came out. i really like the droid x and droid pro. but as i said earlier, i'm afraid to have that style phone because of my job. it seems like the new g'zone C771 may be exactly what i've been looking for. i just hope its free of bugs since some of the g'zone phones have a reputation of being buggy. i also hope they dont short change it on features. like camera, screen resolution, wi-fi, etc. what really worries me is that i'm getting my hopes up and it seems too good to be true. and when something seems to good to be true....it usually is.

p.s. - not a big deal...but i hope they change the back cover. i dont like the looks of it at all. i really like the rubberized grid on the back of my g'zone rock.

if it doesn't come equipped with PTT there is an Android app that allows you to have it.

I am really looking forward to at least testing this phone. I have had the original G"Zone from the start, I can not even remember how long I have had it, over 4 years I am sure. But I want a smart phone that will be as rugged and as reliable as this original that I can surf the web on. I also need to be able to see the screen outside, which is my only gripe about the original.

Hey when anybody gets any info on the release date please post it. I think I'm going to pass on the iphone to get this one. I have read somewhere that a potential release date in March 2011. If this is ture, I would think that they would provide a date soon. It just furstrates me that its taking so long and seeems like its a secret. lol
