I've had a hard time putting regular post paid phones on my prepaid account lately. The reps often act like its against policy. It used to be easier.
Ive never tried the iPhone on prepaid.

Hofos have good reason to doubt statements like "I've activated xxx phone on xxx network" ,especially if there are official rules against it and even more especially on a cdma network where they control ALL of the esns.
4G devices and the iphone cdma are both not officially allowed on Verizon prepaid and Page Plus.
There are reports that some people have slid an iphone on PPC but those are subject to questioning too.
When a person comes out with very few posts and claims something big like that it gets people's hopes up but also sets them up for disappointment. There have been many claims like that in these forums in the past so it is simply logical to question statements such as putting a highly desirable phone on a network that allows other devices.
The iphone cdma may be possible. It is easy to fake screenshots too (there are videos of people with the old gsm iphone supposedly running on Verizon/Sprint years ago using an app called Fhttp://www.ijailbreak.com/applications/using-the-application-fake-carrier-to-change-your-carrier-name-and-enable-numeric-battery/
ake Carrier .
So there is reason why people can doubt such claims. A lot of things can be faked imagewise in this digital age of photoshop etc.
It also helps to have more then one or two posts for credibility. A Hofo who has say thousands of posts with a history of being generally accurate about findings will be given more credence then a Hofo with under say ten posts in all likelihood.
Everyone's a newb at first.

Does anyone have any new information regarding the launch of the Verizon PrePaid iPhone??
Have they verified if it's just the iPhone 4 or will they also allow the iPhone 4S???![]()
Operating without a contract makes you far more valuable.
I highly doubt the iphone cdma, any version will be allowed on Verizon prepaid any time soon. Do you have any sources to post Vmobi about this?
The info was provided by a VZW corp. store rep.
I was there with a friend, while they upgraded their phone....
While looking over the displays, etc. a vzw rep asked if I was looking to upgrade my phone or maybe add a line...
I advised them I was happy with my JOLT prepaid iPhone 4, and unless they (VZW) had one of those 4S (prepaid), maybe I would consider acquiring one...
Which they then replied with, "well there will be one soon,"
To which I replied No, not a month to month service iPhone, not interested, but thanks anyways...
and they replied.... No not month to month it's prepaid, no contract.
Shocked and not believing what I was hearing .... "right, sure, a prepaid iPhone on Verizon..."
When? How Much? will I have to get a second mortgage to get one of those???
VZW Rep: No, really, but we have not started selling them on prepaid yet...
Shocked but still not believing.... "I'd buy one. When will you start selling them. ??????"
"How much will the service cost or will it just be available on the smartphone 3G plan????"
VZW Rep... "they have not told us yet, but probably just like the others that have been added to the prepaid 3G smartphone plan..."
Now I was just not believing what I was being told,..... "You can do that?????"
vzw rep... ''yes. there are ways to get that done."
So when will this be rolled out to everyone outside of VZW???? Will it be available for the iPhone 4 and 4S???
I'm in, if it includes the unlimited 3g data just as it is currently offered for all android prepaid 3G smart-phones...![]()
Interesting. But seeing as to how Verizon prepaid could't clarify right off the bat if the Citrus was on Unleashed or not,(it's not), I can see other possible errors and misinterpretations happen. I'd love to see unlimited 3g data on the nation's largest network on an iphone on prepaid but until we see it...
I think it will be a while before they allow that but I have my fingers crossed.
It lets me get the 4S on Month To Month No Contract
That's postpaid though, not prepaid. You can do "month to month" with any phone by paying full price or bringing your own used one.
Unlike true Prepaid, A credit check will be done and you can unexpectedly run up big bills on overage or international calling. The 3G data is not unlimited.
And that is the problem, prepaid subscribers want to avoid. Anyone can pay for requested deposits and other such things, if you can afford to pay retail for a device a deposit is trivial. Prepaid subscribers Do Not want a contract, and above everything else they also want to avoid relinquishing control of their wireless device service. No Contract Post Paid wireless service gives too much control to a carrier, and in many cases carriers abuse that control by adding on fees for dubious reasons.
A prepaid iPhone would be a welcome move on behalf of VZW, however if they choose not to offer that device on their prepaid service, it would be no loss since there are now hundreds of other competing prepaid smartphone options including prepaid iPhone 4s.

I'm grandfathered in the old Verizon Wireless prepay plan — can't remember what it's called, but the one where I pay a 25˘ "connect fee" plus 10˘/min. — and I wonder whether I can buy a used VZW iPhone, purchase a data plan, then just *228 to change my number to that phone.
Somehow, I doubt you could.
It's not like At&t where you can easily swap SIM cards on an unlocked phone, even if it is not carrier branded. Verizon will only allow certain phone models to be used with prepaid. You can try if you want, just be aware of the potential that it cannot be activated on prepaid.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??
Sarcasm is a fine art...
"Don't believe everything you think"
It's not a matter of if you win or lose, it's how you assign the blame
Well, then I guess I'd like to hear the outcome from someone who's tried.
Yes Verizon iPhone works on page plus
