Has anyone seen this yet or confirm this for sure? From my limited deciphering of Chinese it says that it will more or less carry over the specs of SH-01B, but with Android 2.2 instead, and it will have WCDMA.

Camera is to be downgraded from the 12MP CCD to a 8MP CMOS.

Hmm... Some images are of the GALAPAGOS and some the SH-01B. I don't think it's the SH-01B because it's still got the antennae and same design, and SHARP hardly ever does same designs for the China models, other than 9020C/0902C/WX-T923.

I guess the Galapagos is the wrong pic? Lol. It'll be interesting if it gets out though, a nice Android flip is something different from the usual Android suspects. I don't mind that they downgrade the camera, just don't downgrade the screen when its finally released!

There there even any Android flips? All of them seem to be the slate type, iPhone style touch screen devices. Does Android not support the flip form factor or something?

samsung has an android flip phone for china, and android shouldnt have problems supporting flip, you can use a motorola milestone1 with the keyboard directional pad to open and close the menus or the touch screen, a form factor like of the docomo sharps or 933sh type would work just fine, just allow dual usage.

Good! At last a desirable non-Japanese Sharp.

I don't understand the camera downgrade, but I guess we'll have to live with that.

I'm just happy that there will again be a new semi-high spec keitai model that is (most likely) unlocked.

I wouldnt bet on it being a good phone... The pics are taken straight from a SH01B, so there are no actual photos of it.

And on top of it, if it does run Android 2.2 its not gonna cost below 5000RMB. Even the SH81iuc is running 4000RMB right now after being release for such a long time and its only a windows mobile 6.5 phone.

@qwerty1235, the 9020c, 9010c, 1810c, 8010c, werent designs for China. They were literally brought over and then convert the UI.

Yeah that's what I meant. I meant that the 9020C/0902C were direct ports unlike other Sharps.

5000RMB is $750. If it actually does cost that much I have no hope for SHARP in China.

I'm hoping that they'll pull a fast one and price it under $500. Hopefully.

Android 2.2 phones shouldn't even be 750 bucks in the first place. The cream of the crop Nexus S is only 530, and that has a 4 inch Samoled screen, NFC, 1 ghz cpu, etc etc
