Yeah Sincere Plaza. That's basically the only place where you can get it in hk.
You should be able to get it in the mainland cheaper since that's were it's officially sold. There's no MSRP from what I know so stores are free to price as they wish though.

7228 is ~3k? I ought to pick one up to play with!
what about it's GPS function. is it using data(must pay) or you can using it for free?
there is no front camera?
sorry a lot of question.![]()
As long as it has a physical GPS sensor you won't need data, as long as you 1) disable triangulation/A-GPS and 2) have an app with the map data stored on the device (or if it's an app which just tells you your coordinates/speed/etc).
Google Maps won't work without data obviously, but something like TomTom will.
Anywhere online to get this in the $500 USD range? Ebayers mostly charging over $600.
PM a member here named zerox678, also here is his store for you; http://www.zeroxkeitai.com/keitai/
Thanks ahhdillon.
did sh7218u had touchpad like sh-01b? or they downgraded into ordinary 5 way direction pad
My friend is currently borrowing my SH7218U. Once I get it back, I'll post what I did to get root and Market. Basically, I've used Z4Root to root the phone, ran a sideloaded apk of titanium backup, restored the market components/gapps from my optimus one's backup to the phone, and then restarted, and i then got gapps to run somewhat stable. Gmail still doesn't work properly and Google Maps doesn't seem to pinpoint proper orientation.
I can probably use Root Explorer to get the cyanogenmod 7 gapps pack extracted properly, to which I believe we can get the core google elements all installed and running without flaws.
I believe I read somewhere earlier in howardforums how to get ADB, so maybe we might see some roms for this!
What's the verdict on the UI? I really want one (upgrading from a SX862) but I can't deal with no T9, etc. Is the Tapas UI okay for that (i.e. decent T9/english usability) or does it need to be replaced with a standard Android install - if so, is it hard? Has anyone got one and replaced the UI with a default Android install, if so, any comments? Any general comments obv appreciated!
Edited: Ok sorry, I've read through the whole thread now and understand that EN T9 is natively supported and the UI's english is viable. Still unsure quite how viable the 'plain' android installation is though...
