I am new to the HOFO, I did the research on the 7218u phone but couldn't find any information on android 2.2 being able to update to 2.3. Does anyone have any information if the firmware will up-gradable?

I stand corrected. Sogou input is the best one for the phone! Its multitouch is awesome. Basically you need to press * to toggle language and predictive input. Afterwards, the # button provides with all the punctuations in an easy menu, and for space you just press 0 once and not three times.

Hi there ~ sorry to be asking a silly question but how do you apply the Sogou input method/make it the default setting? I've tried everything and nothing seems to work. Currently when I press * and #, none of the functions (like punctuations) appear and also I have to press 0 three times for space. Also is there a way to increase the font size for texting? Thanks.

Hi, I have been trying to get the android market to work on my Sh7218u.
At the moment i am part where as rebooting my phone will get prompted a message saying "Welcome to Sh7218XU" "Touch the android to begin".

I have tried touching all four corners in a clockwise postion & nothing. I am not able to use my phone if i cannot bypass the welcome screen. If anyone can help me solve this your help will be much apreciated.

Also kurenaii, you say you have solved the issue using the software that came with the phone to remove google apps. If you dont mind can you tell me what software & how you came to solve this.

Someone else had the same issue. Go back a few pages in this thread or search for the fix, I think he forgot to do something important before rebooting which caused this problem.

Misread it, looks like the only way to solve the problem is to remove the apps.

Hi, yes i have followed the instructions from the blog. After i fully reseted the phone, i got "Touch the android to begin". I cannot bypass touch the android to begin, im litrally just stuck on the screen.

Would removing the apps solve the problem. If so how?

If that does not work, how do i fully reset the phone again from scratch?
