T~Mobile prepaid and Verizon prepaid will block text messages to your phone if you call CS and ask, but it's all texts.

Also many of the Samsung phones do have a 'block number' in the settings so if you put in a number you never want to get a call from again, the phone won't ring and bother you, very good for blocking numbers who call who you don't know, like sales calls and wrong numbers. Or if you are not getting along with someone and want to block them. It's as temporary or as permanent as you want it to be, you can unblock the numbers as easily as you blocked them. It won't block incoming texts but having the carrier block them stops that problem in it's tracks. You can go to the call records in the phone and the setting has several options, one of which it block this number.
Someone I do not know sent a picture message to my Net10 phone, I deleted it unopened and was not charged for it.
The thing I like about Tracfone and Net10 is they don't charge you for texts if you don't open them.
I wish T~Mobile and Verizon prepaid worked it like that.
But having them block all texts is great so I never have to deal with it.
