The xoom was updated a week ago to 3.0.1.. Adobe flash now works (from the market). The keyboard bug is supposedly fixed. And most of the crashes were not Motorola's fault. Its the Apps that are crashing because they weren't built for Android 3.0. But many developers have updated their apps to fix those crashes. Still no word on the SD and LTE updates. Promising news on Netflixs... Theres a leaked apk file floating around which worked great yesterday and half of today. But I guess Netflixs heard about the leak and now the app no longers work. You can sign in but you get a message when you try to play a movie. So it seems like we arent far away from an Android release.
That's good news. If they have it working by the time my ipad 2 is scheduled to ship I might cancel...
so is there netflix and/or 4G yet?
No and no.
Netflix isn't out for Android yet, and even when it does get released, it won't be available on all devices (officially anyway). Evidently not every device meets the DRM qualifications, so only those that do will get the app.
The LTE upgrade on the Xoom has been delayed until sometime in the summer. It's rumored that it's been delayed for the same reason that the Bionic has been delayed - problems between the Tegra 2 and LTE.
I found the APK that was floating around recently that was reported as being unlocked and installed it on my Xoom. It didn't work - I could browse and queue items, but any time I tried to launch the video it would say that the device was not supported.
I made another post in this forum about LTE upgrades. Supposedly they are starting to flow at this point - hoping to get mine soon...The LTE upgrade on the Xoom has been delayed until sometime in the summer. That hacked version has stopped working for pretty much every device. The official market version has been working for a lot of devices after the last update, even though it doesn't officially support them. I don't recall if it's working for the Xoom though.
Those LTE upgrade emails were sent out in error: http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/08...mail-in-error/
is there an app or any way to transfer files from a digital camera (via usb) or jump drive to xoom without having to use a pc? i am going on vacation and would like to dump pictures into the xoom once in a while and don't really want to bring my laptop too.
You will for sure need a host adapter dongle. Here's an example for sale on eBay:

I believe at that point you'd need to use some sort of app on the Xoom to begin the file transfer. This all of course depends on whether the Xoom can support the USB Mass Storage profile - which I can't say for sure. I remember when they introduced the USB host adapter spec they intended it for simple devices like mouse and/or keyboard. I can't say for sure because I've not tried it before.
