I would expect an identical phone and identical treatment from multiple carriers.
Extremely limited supply as the same phone is allocated across multiple carriers.
It will be a sellers market.
So early upgrades for those with iPhone contacts less than a year, most likely not.
Grandfathered data plan for those with current "unlimited iPhone data plans", maybe.
Other unlimited plans that are NOT iPhone plans, most likely not.
October will tell
I think this came up last year. Iirc it was a problem because they required contract/term data for iPhone discount but the unlimited is not contract data.

We’ve just been tipped off this evening to a Best Buy location that’s been scheduled to have a mysterious “Apple fixture” installed on Friday, October 21st. That lines up nicely with some of the most recent iPhone 5 rumors pointing to a mid-October release, and considering that we’re already in September and we don’t have a press event on the books yet, October availability is looking more likely by the day.
To be clear, this isn’t a run-of-the-mill installation for the big box — our tipster tells us that the request that a manager be on-hand at 6AM is out of the ordinary (they usually show up at 7AM for inventory), and that a similar arrangement was scheduled for the iPhone 4 launch. While it seems strange that thousands of retail employees could potentially be clued into iPhone availability over six weeks in advance, the language in Best Buy’s system is sufficiently vague so that it could technically be anything. It’s just hard to ignore the correlation to the mid-October rumors, particularly when the Wall Street Journal‘s throwing its weight behind them.
On a related note, our tipster tells us that Best Buy Mobile managers have a meeting scheduled for October 10th to “discuss upcoming BIG release dates” (emphasis his). Assuming we get an Apple press event for the new iPhone a few weeks in advance, the managers would be well aware of the release date in time to discuss it at that meeting, so that’d support a release on or around the 21st, too.
We’ll pass on more as we get it — and in the meantime, it couldn’t hurt to mark this one down as a date to watch in your calendar.
Thanks! Not only am I excited about iPhone news (wifes 3GS is falling apart), I see BB is gearing up for an appliance sale. I need a new washer and dryer.
Sorry to say but Galaxy s 1 is garage. Sg2 is night and day from Sg1.
Why are you sorry? Lol. While the SG2 may be viewed as night and day from it's predecessor, the SG1 was suppose to be a direct competitor to the iPhone 4, hahaha. We all know how that went. Any how, me thinks the only people who will bite on the SG2 are people who havent had a Samsung Smart Phone. I'm done with Samsung forever.
I am a little confused. My Verizon phone was able to roam on GSM because they used TDMA. Tell it was shutdown. The phone recognizes it as Analog. If PCS has TDMA, It could be technically be used on GSM.

I like the rumours where the screen will be LARGER than 4 inches but somehow I dont think that's gonna happen, lol.
Anything over 4 inches is too big. I had a Samsung Fascinate which has the 4" screen and it was perfect. The selling point for me will be if it has 4G or not.
