I just got captivate today and i have a huge problem (for me) with this phone.
It does not save the caller name in the log.
So whenever the contact is not in the phonebook the caller name will only display when the person is calling, but in the call log the caller name will not store, but only a phone number.
I know on Acer Liquid call log stores both caller id and caller name, but galaxy S and i beleive any other droid does not save the caller name.
Is there an App i can download from market that will store both the name and the number in the call log.
Or can i steal the call log application from Liquid and somehow transfer of to Galaxy S.
Please help its really important because i get too many daily phone calls and i need to see who i am calling to be prepared for conversation.
anyone? help?
I have the same problem with Samsung Vibrant.My old Omnia 2 shows both name and number.
Did you find any solutions for this?
My Captivate shows names in big font above numbers in a small font on the Logs page of the phone app, based on matches from in my Contacts.
Showing the caller ID name is a more complicated feature for cell phones - I believe it is enabled in the phone baseband and is a feature of the cellular radio hardware being used. FWIW I've never seen a phone that actually pulls in caller ID names on Rogers.
The Captivate probably just doesn't support it, but you could try calling Rogers support up and see if they have an option they can enable on your account. They'll probably charge you $18.99 a month for it.![]()
In my experience, the phones that actually work with Name Display (Captivate, iPhone 4), only display it when a call comes in, but names are not stored.
Cell phone history:
Motorola DPC 550 -> Ericsson DF388 -> Sanyo SCP-4000 -> Samsung SCH-N150 -> Samsung SCH-T300 -> LG TM520 -> LG VX-4600 -> BlackBerry 6750 -> BlackBerry 7250 -> Samsung SGH-807 -> T-Mobile Dash -> Motorola RAZR -> BlackBerry Bold 9000 -> BlackBerry Torch 9800 -> Samsung Galaxy S Captivate -> Samsung Nexus S -> Samsung Galaxy S III LTE
I have the iPhone 4 and it stores the name in my recent calls list...
im looking for an app that does this too. How hard is it to save the incoming number and name on a call?
most blackberry do this and also iphone 3gs as well. Get with it Android!
