There are a couple of fairly detailed threads on gaming on the V over at the phone's page at Android Forums...you might want to look there.

It can do most 3D games just fine, but more advanced stuff like Dungeon Defenders isn't going to work. Or rather, it'll work, but at 5 frames per second.

That said, I've played Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, Pocket Legends, The Sims 3 and Raging Thunder 2 on it just fine. As long as you can accept that the Crysis-level Android games aren't going to work, then you should be satisfied with how it performs. The real big hurdle for it is Flash support.

As an FYI, people with rooted and overclocked V's are reporting success with stuff like Dungeon Defenders at Android Forums. But it takes that to happen, obviously.

I saw that, but I kind of wonder what speeds they're considering "acceptable." The Evo has issues with the game, so I'm wondering just how well an overclocked Optimus actually does. The only thing I can think of is that the low resolution is helping it out a lot when combined with an overclock.

I've had the optimus for 3 days. I'm coming from an intercept. A few things I've noticed that haven't been mentioned on here:

How well the battery holds a charge. This was surprising after all the bad battery stories I was hearing. My Optimus can run live wallpapers, be played with constantly and still hold a charge on average at least a few hours longer than the Intercept.

The Optimus is fairly lag-free except for that first touch after you wake it up(many more expensive android phones do this)

On 3g download speeds arent much better than the Intercept. On the Optimus, upload is usually faster than down.

The screen on the Optimus is super-sensitive, which I like. The screen responds to lightest touches and swipes.

Overall the Optimus is an extreme joy to use

My Review of the LG Optimus V

    http://www.arenacreative.com/blog/re...-for-the-buck/

Check it out - I wanted to share a review of the LG Optimus V, but seeing that I'm on a few different forums, I decided to just post the summary as a blog post instead. I talk about why I switched from Verizon, my experiences with doing so, yada yada, and what I've found to be great and not so great about the phone. The not so great things are almost not even worth mentioning I love the V!

Check it out, and let me know what you guys think.

Verizon needs more smartphones without stupid required data plans.
