Sierra Wirelss w801 device not charging while powered on

I have a w801 through Time Warner and what happens is when the device is on and plugged in to the outlet, it will charge momentarily but will eventually stop charging. It'll just stay at whatever percentage it was last at. So I've been having to keep it off and charge it to 100% and then start using it while plugged in. I tried removing the battery for 15 seconds but it doesn't matter. Anyone have any ideas?

I get the same issue... any fix? I know this is months old though

It might be that it is using the amount of power required to charge, so it stops charging while on/active.
