Hello everyone, we were planning on switching to straightalk when our verizon wireless contract is up (those crooks). Anyway, Me and my wife really only like the LG 900g or the Nokia phones which if I'm understanding correctly come setup for AT&T. The town I live in and most of the immediate area is covered by verizon. Is there a way to use the phones we want in our area?
Telephones which operate on the AT&T Mobility network use GSM technology. Phones which operate on the Verizon network use CDMA technology. Phones with GSM technology will only work on GSM networks such as AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile and the GSM networks in other countries. Phones with CDMA technology will only work on a CDMA network such as Verizon, Sprint and other CDMA networks such as U.S. Cellular.
Yes, only verizon.....about 20 miles west of us is where you can start to pick up AT&T, and if you check the coverage map it's very spotty for my area with mostly no coverage for my town. I live in Littleton, NH zip - 03561. It's a verizon dominated area.
Here is a link to the phones page. Each phone has a link below it for more info. I believe all the current phones offered have a G or a C on the end of their model number so you can ID the CDMA ones: http://www.straighttalk.com/Phones
