    TM506 forgetting internet/MMS settings.

    I'm having a problem with my TM506.

Long story short, after resetting and getting the MMS and internet settings pushed down from Mobilicity, the phone refuses to remember which internet setting to use. Either the provisioned settings or a manually keyed in one refuses to be set.

Also after the settings were pushed down I received this screen on my phone:

Anyone have a solution to this?

tried multiple times. the settings wont save when it is selected to be used for internet or MMS.

I've raised this with mobilicity tech help and they've walked me through everything and I think they are stumped too. I'll try reflashing my phone with the SE PC suite today.

Reloading the phone software with the SE Update Service fixed it. I guess the firmware got corrupted somehow.

download the update service. It's not a new version, I just reloaded the same version that is already on it.

Not exactly the same topic, but it's about the TM506 at least, so thought I'd ask it here.

So I gave my TM506 to my gf's mom and she complained to me about her battery draining really fast (needing to recharge everyday). Odd that the TM506 isn't resource hungry, she doesn't use it all that much, and she has good reception when she's at work, so none of the usual battery draining issues seem to associate with the short battery life.

I'm suspecting that it's the internet that might be causing the issue, but I've already gone to settings and disallowed the local connection of internet and streaming; however, I still get the "H" symbol beside the signal bars (even after rebooting the phone). Is the "H' there permanently regardless data connection or am I not setting it up right?

H is permanantly there. Also, each charge lasts 3 DAYS. So it looks like the battery needs conditioning. (drain fully and then charge)

Ok, so I guess the H should be there then. It's hard to get her to condition the battery cuz she's not exactly that great with electronics. I can only go with what she's telling me, and I can't be testing the phone for her. Will see if turning off those connections improves battery life first and take it from there.

    Thanks xtachx~

Thought I read somewhere that this is no longer necessary with any rechargeable battery(from the last five or six years anyways)....

I think it still applies to new batteries. Maybe you're getting it mixed up with battery memory where they need to be fully drained each time before they are charged or they lose their capacity.

just confirming that update url is ...
    http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/supp...06?cc=us&lc=en

    )

But also may i psoe a probelm here - andI'll do it ina separate post as well -

Hi, I live in Australia, and recently received TWO 'seller refurbished' red TM506's (from the US) - both have the same problem - all the functioning of the phone itself definitely seems to be there
    - and each one even formatted a 1Gb memory stick when inserted.

But the problem seems to be in the charging area
    - (remember, same prob for both 'seller refurbished' phones)
    - at first the charge indicator would come on
and report that the phone was charging
    - but instead of charging the batteries were both DIS-charging.

Now, if I leave them for a day or two, and try to charge
    - via computer, car charger, or electrical wall outlet
    - I will get the phones to light up for about 4 minutes,
to indicate that they are charging......
    - but then just fold/crash/turn-off etc!

Okay, I have advised the seller' - who is sending me two new batteries
    - which might, or might not, solve the problem -
_ and when I get the batteries I will also try the 'update -
    .....--- http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/supp...06?cc=us&lc=en
    ---....

    but other than those ideas,
I am at a loss to understand why these problems -
so if anyone has another idea,
or has had a similar problem,
    and solved it, )
could you please encourage me )

The settings cannot be inputted manually. You have to get them pushed to your phone from tech support.
