need help with new plan net10, LG 900g

had trac for a few years... i want a qwerty phone.
370 minutes on my crappy refurb expire saturday (loved my lg600 but cracked screen, refurb is not doing as well)

liking the lg900g esp since $30 at bestbuy (tho may need to rain check it)

    ANYWAY

debating what net10 to go with...

    1) liking the $25/month 750 plan

    2) then thought oooh $15/month 200 minutes I could do to stay on the cheap side...

BUT if I actually use the web will my minutes get sucked up? can I even use the web? will the 200 rollover? no way I will use 750 a month unless it includes web and I try to use them up. 200 I could stretch.

    THEN I saw straight talk...
    3) $30/month 1000/1000 40MB
would a net10 lg900g phone (which ST sells) work for ST?
I assume it should since same overall company, but couldn't find any info

I figure when I port my number over, my double minutes will stay with tracfone. but might reactivate it or try to transfer the minutes to my grandfather.

Phones are not interchangable between the different Trac companies, change companies = buy new phone. DMFL will stay with your Tracfone when reactivated in the future. If 750 minutes/$25 too many minutes, then why look at 1000 minutes/$30. Unlimited, if necessary in the future, is cheaper with ST, $45-ST vs $50-Net10. I get the impression ST web users are getting by OK with the 1000 Minute plan (might also apply to the Net10 750 minute plan). Half price phone at Bestbuy hard to pass up.

yeah, I have to stop by for a rain check. thinking I might get 2 since so cheap for a backup.

I just saw on the 750/month card today that text = 1 minute. I am leaning towards trying the net10 750 and see how much I will use.
I am so accustomed to tracfone 0.30 minutes per text. I was thinking, okay fine 0.50/txt with net10... but this card is 1min/txt idk.

ALSO do I have to buy a 750 card every month? or is it automatic off my credit card?
and can anyone clarify the web usage cost?

Do the math on the ACTUAL cost (in money) per text on the n10 750/month card and let us know what you come up with.

You may have to call Net10 and see if they offer an easy pay type plan for the 30 day plans (its not listed). You can stack the 30 day plans and they will individually be added automatically at the end of each 30 day period (applying early erases the remaining airtime). This special stacking is described somewhere.

Talk/text/web use is all based on (and deducts) minutes.

    $25/750 card: after tax and fee $27/750 = $0.036/unit.
$60/900 card: after tax and fee $64.10/3600 = $0.0178/text (since this phone does 0.25 units/text default)
    and $64.10/900 = $0.07/minute

So obviously per minute talk/web 750 card is a far better deal.

If one does a lot of texting, there is some math to determine which is better suited.
    $25/month for 750 texts
    $20/month for 1200 texts

Thanks for the help. Net10 continues to write "enroll in automatic" under the monthly plans: on my phone's box, and elsewhere, but they only offer it for easy minutes.
My concern was purely trying to get every penny buy renewing at the last second. I am also concerned about if I am unable to renew close to the 30 days. Guess I'll just buy and keep a card with me if I'm close and go away.
In trying to determine if I want 750 or Unlimited, I think I will just use the 750 and if I run out kinda early, it will still be cheaper than 50/unlimited.
Just unsure how much I'll actually use the web to need that many minutes. If not, I may do 900/90 days and save $5.63/month which makes me feel pretty cheap haha. But that does come out to roughly a free 900 card a year...

Check with Net10 CS in Miami to see if they have the "Reserve" option for Net10 for the 30 day plans. I heard Net10 had it but cannot find any mention of it. Here is a description of it on StraighTalk:

To NisMoMax80, Congrats on your new mobile. For Net10: In regards to Easy Minutes your days and minutes will roll over. But if you enroll in the Unlimited or 750 minute plan, your minutes and days will not roll over. If you don't have minutes or days you want to spare don't select the Unlimited or 750 Minute plan before your minutes and days are almost exhausted. Or it's Hasta la Vista to a good chunk of your money . I have read too many posts from people who have done "devil dance" online because they did not know this. Net10's Terms and Conditions
Real Life Dictionary: Cell Phone. A fancy term for mobile answering machine.

I noticed that you had concerns about the browser on your LG 900g and using up your minutes. Many people install Opera Mini or Bolt browsers because they are more efficient than the installed WAP browser. Something worth considering since you have app installation capability on your phone.

Check the Straightalk site for info on the LG900g not found on this site:: http://www.howardforums.com/forumdis...-Straight-Talk
