iPhone with Alltel plan?
Has anyone had any luck getting iPhone on an Alltel plan? I know plenty of folks have done it with the Droid, but have heard Vzw was forcing nationwide plans for the iPhone.
Motorola i880 in Maroon with Body Glove Case on Nextel
Apple iPhone 4S 64GB Black on AT&T

Nextel was a thriving culture within a company and Sprint SINGLE HANDILY DESTROYED IT.
When you watch something you LOVE so much die such a painful death, it makes moving on IMPOSSIBLE.

DONE! I have one activated and fully functional on my Alltel SmartPack 5500 Shared Plan that has data built in.
Anyone out there have a Verizon iPhone 4 (CLEAN ESN, 32GB or 16GB, but preferably 32GB) available for a trade? If you're in the Miami region and could meet up, THAT WOULD BE GREAT! PM ME! PLENTY of phones available for trade!
I am looking for a Motorola i856 Debut for Nextel.
Also looking for a NIB (or freshly back from Motorola) RED/PURPLE Nextel i880.
PM ME!

We had many calls on this and the system was not allowing some iphones to activate right. We had to switch some customers to verizon plans. I think i heard apple is not aware of the alltel people being around and its not provisioned well for it. its one of those may or may not work things. sorry
My current phones (in no particular order): Vertu Constellation (Black Leather, Polished Stainless Steel, Black Ceramic Keypad), Nextel i580, GSM Dynatac (quadband, color, speakerphone!), Moto Startac 7000g (x5), Nokia 7200b Proto, Red PEBL Proto, 8890 x3, 6590i x5, 6600 x2, 7190 x7, Nokia 6651 x2, D&G v3i, BB 8300, Nokia 6555
Someone who was activated under an Alltel plan stated 'Facetalk or Facetime' or whatever it's called does not work. I know when i logged into Apple, it stated I needed to change my plan.

I thought facetime only worked on wifi & would only work on 3g if jailbraked.
Can someone clarify this for me.
Question when i go on the AllTel site it says i cant get service in my area which is CT. But is there any way i can try to get on a alltel plan as opposed to verizons?
And also is there a way someone on here can direct me to a link with their plans listed? Im curious but i need a zip code that will work for Alltel though.

Sounds like bs too me. I'm not calling you a liar, but there is no provisioning needed. My whole family have Verizon phones with an Alltel plan and they operate fine. I think verizon is just making excuses to get people off the Alltel plans. The strong desire for the iPhone will do just the trick for them. As far as FaceTime, that runs through wifi only and has nothing to do with the network. To the person looking for an Alltel plan and an iPhone, forget it. Not going to happen. Alltel plans on through verizon are grandfathered only.
Your current billing address would have to be an active Alltel territory to get service from Alltel (not Verizon). Getting an Alltel service plan would not get you a Verizon account nor can anyone but someone that was an Alltel customer absorbed by Verizon keep there existing plan.

Find a zip code closest to the area you live in that is still alltel.Use that zip code to access Alltel web site and to activate your new service. get on the nationwide plan to avoid roaming. you might have to drive to the zip code you used to over the air program your phone to get a alltel tower. dial *22801 to program your phone. I just did it yesterday hope it works for you. just my input. have a great night.

You are 100% correct it is BS, I tried to get a droid X on my old Alltel plan 900 National freedom plan. Every Verizon store said NO i had to change, operators even said the same thing. Finally I got a young girl from Texas and she said no problem and put me on the same plan and I got my droid X and added the unlimited data plan. I also asked her about having a problem with connections and the like. She told me that it's the same as a verizon plan only you don't pay as much. The exact same as verizon plans,, period. There can't be any difference unless you use an old Alltel phone that was programmed differently. SOOOO don't let the operators bull you or they just don't know. Ask to talk to someone that understands Alltel customers wanting to keep there plans. We Alltel customers have been loyal customers for many years and deserve to be treated as such. Don't give up like I almost did and shif off of the Alltel plans.....

True True.. I change From my Alltel plan to a VZW plan 2 times a year for business trips.. Using my Droid 1. They will do it just tell them when you called the other day and asked about this you were told that it would not be a problem. They always try to make me switch to a VZW plan and i say why would i pay 20 a month more for the same thing i have now?? They say wow your right i would not change my plan either...
Well I'll tell you this, the only time Verizon csr's didn't try to get me off my alltel plan was when I called in to switch to the Verizon talk, text & unlimited data plan promo that was actually cheaper than alltel. The csr told me that my alltel plan was fine and NO I can't have the promo.
