Long story short, Virgin service near my house is starting to cause me problems. I am trying to find out if I can Metro Flash the phone, but have the ability to restore the phone back to Virgin if need be. I would not cancel my VM account during the "trial" as I assume that would make it easier. I am trying to get the correct information now, as I have not yet screwed anything up. I appreciate any info, or points in right direction.
Thanks a lot.

Or maybe it's because it hasn't been done before, and people were coming into the forum seeing how much effort you have put into it.
A quick Googling shows that it isn't a common item, and I can see why. Most people wouldn't want to go from VM to Metro given the worse voice quality and low data rates. Add in the facts that there are better phones on Metro than the Intercept and the Intercept has only been out 4 months now, and it might be that few, if any, people have done it.
IMO, you're asking in the wrong forum. This question is better suited for http://www.howardforums.com/forumdis...p/335-MetroPCS since they're better equipped to tell you how to get an Intercept flashed. VM users can't Flash devices into the service and AFAIK, you're the very first poster here who has expressed any interest in moving an Android device from VM to a higher-priced provider.![]()
Thanks for replying. Like you said it does not seem to be very common. I tried searching the info, which is why I am asking the experts. I have read about people restoring intercepts after rooting, but I am not sure if those steps would work the same. I don't really want to switch to metro, but the service near my house (downtown miami) is horrible. Worst than what the signal bars would indicate. I even had VM send me a new phone because I could not belive the service could be this bad in metro Miami. This is why I would like to try a trial run on metro. So if anybody has any links or info on backing up and restoring the phone (if possible). I will probably try it out, and let everyone know what happens.
Also, the last reply talked about there being better phones on metro. As I already have the intercept, I'm screwed. But before I bought it, I looked at the optimus and the BB curve. I don't like BB keyboard, and the optimus had a slower proccessor and a resistive touch screen vrs the capacitive screen on the intercept. I'm just wondering what phones do you thinks are better? Maybe I can learn from my mistakes. Thanks again.
im a metro guy and honestly stay w/ vm metro charges a lot plus you go over to metro and all you will have is txt and talk no data unless teh phone is rooted and you have some know how to edit an android phone to allow metro data to it so really you will be wasting your money and out a phone because you cannot back flash at all !so just stick w/ it ! and you wont loose any money ! or time
in shorter words its not worth it !
