Btw. If you need corp email d2global wont work for you as the sync is broken as it is in the d2 and dx. Fixes have been promised for for over 4 months with nothing yet materializing. Moto forums have threads 50 pages long on it with Moto admitting the problem.

Wonder if this is the same problem we had on the first Froyo build for the OG Droid? If so, downloading 'Improved Email' from the Market resolved the issue for me.

I was reading somewhere (who knows where at this point) that 'they' (whoever 'they' are... presumably Moto & their testers) did not like the Droid3 and decided to scrap the design... any validity to this? Or can I chalk it up to people just being impatient and letting their minds run wild in the meantime?

Sounds like a rumor that could have been started by htc marketing...

Looks like I wasn't the only one that heard that, then.
I haven't heard anyone in the know saying this though, so perhaps it's just a rumor started by people who didn't like the look?

I remember back when the D1 came out, there were different revisions of the keyboard design that all came out within a short period of time, it doesn't seem all that crazy of a concept that the design may have been "scrapped" and just redesigned without any affect to release date. who knows.

For your guys sake, I hope this device is preloaded with gingerbread or better, because it would suck to be stuck with froyo this late...

To be honest, with the seemingly stable builds of GB being leaked for the Droid X and Droid 2, I see no reason for any new Moto Android phone to be released with anything less than Gingerbread on board.

Taking it a step further, I wouldn't feel that you'd be out of line with the hypothesis that it might ship with Ice Cream [Sandwich]. With Google's cycle of releases, we will be due for one around the time that Winston has just led some people to believe (sometime after May) and it would be a huge boon to Big Red if they came out with another "first with" device.

I remember reading the threads where some users had D1s with slightly domed keys.
    Good times.

LOL - yeah, my nephew actually has one of those Droids. 5 OG Droids in the "family" and his is the only one with the different keyboard.

My D1 has the slightly domed keys...as did my wife's until she had to get a replacement or 3. I noticed the difference on her 2nd replacement.
Those cellular phones are never going to catch on...
