This makes me feel like it really could be out by the Fourth. Such a great phone, it's gonna be hard (but not impossible) to wait for the Droid 4...

But, then, who knows, maybe HTC will have an LTE 4G slide sooner -- and with an unlocked loader, to boot!

that is not exactly on the vzw site. its more internal for employees. Still a good sign that it is coming but not as good as it being on the acutal vzw.com site

What these companies should do is get a handful of ppl from the forums and ask their input for specs. Pentile would never have made it to the light of day....

I love Motorola phones for them being good as a phone. Now I have to decide is the screen gonna be a big enough turn off to make me skip any Moto phone that has the Pentile screen. IMO they shoulda just went with SLCD.

Why not judge the screen after you see it, not just based upon the technology? No matter what a screen is, how it looks to you greatly depends on the implementation.

I am not saying it is good or bad, just look at it before making an assumption.

I checked one out on the X2. It just looks to similar in sharpness to the X for me. If you didn't get the performance hit of drawing the extra pixels I would understand. Actually think the X has a better overall quality. I would rather get the extra performance from driving less pixels. Pentile is for the birds.

I care more about viewing angles than actual sharpness. You really have to stare at the screen to notice the difference between pentile and a non-pentile screen.

Any word on what version of Android the D3 will have? If it isn't being released very soon, perhaps it will have Gingerbread.
Rooted Droid 4 with Jelly Bean 4.1.2, system version 98.72.18.XT894.Verizon.en.US
I charge forward recklessly, leaving chaos in my wake.
Boycott phones that lack microSD storage!

It was recently benchmarked running Gingerbread, but a shot of the information in the Verizon system showed Froyo.

So, no one really knows at this point.

Any indication if Moto will listen to the survey they sent out and unlock the boot-loader? all if this blur talk is kind of mute if they are considering releasing this as one of the first devices that will be unlocked. Id love this phone if it was a vanilla experience and free of bloat-ware but ill take what i can get.

I'm getting antsy. Can't wait to get this phone.

Droid-Life, which is sometimes accurate with their info and sometimes not, is reporting that it will have a newer version of Blur than we've seen to date with 3D animations (and that lockscreen in the videos does look quite different to me). Additionally, they're saying the 8mp camera will be an improvement over the one in the Droid X/X2 (hooray!), and that the device will be Webtop ready. I'm not sure what to think about the Webtop rumor's accuracy, but it doesn't excite me in the slightest except in the fact that it might mean more ram.

I doubt if we'll ever see an unlock moto released by Verizon.
