Is it possible to video chat using Optimus V?

Is there any software you can use with the Optimus V to video chat using the rear-facing camera?

Although not ideal video chat should work with a rear-facing camera if the software allows it. You just would not be able to see them when talking unless you used a mirror.

Also if it is possible to video chat can you do it on 3G or only wi-fi?

I haven't tried it but I think Fring will do what you want.

Thanks, I heard of Fring and other software such as Skype and Yahoo IM. However, I can't find out for sure if any software works with a rear-facing camera or specifically if they will work on the Optimus V.

I currently have the LG Rumor Touch and I am thinking about getting the Optimus V. However, I would like to be able to video chat so I am trying to decide if I should wait for the next android phone.

I think video chat is normally found on higher end phones so the next phone might not have a front-facing camera either; however, I am guessing it won't be long until a front-facing camera is standard.

I had Fring on my Hero a long time ago and it worked fine. Since there is no front facing camera Fring will default to video chat being disabled, but just go in the settings and then enable it.

It wont be as useful since there is no front facing camera but I guess a mirror would work to show you the screen. lol
