LG 500G parent mobile is known as LG C105.
LG 800G parent mobile is LG T310 known as the Cookie Style and the Wink. It is a touch screen with a virtual T9 Keyboard.
Tough to find information on both these phones. Photos seem to go up and down so take a quick peak while you can.

Real Life Dictionary: Cell Phone. A fancy term for mobile answering machine.
Here a video for the LG wink parent to the LG 800. The music is nice. Enjoy the show.
LG Wink
If Tracfone/Net10 gets the LG 500G and LG 800G it will be upgrade time again for a lot of people.
Anyone else see an AT&T hand in all these new GSM phones?

AT&T influence? I had ran across something that Tracfone Wireless, Inc. was dropping their contract with Verizon. I need to dig up the article again. If I can find it I'll post a link. It wouldn't be too nice to go to bed with a perfectly working CDMA phone and wake up in the morning with a phone that couldn't get a good signal. I think its a good idea to keep track of what is coming in these days for that reason. If customers aren't able to use their CDMA phones I hope that they will offer reasonable compensation to the owners.
I recently tested the "don't mention a PP Dealer by name" rule here on PP Hofo......trust me, it is still in effect - got me a 7 day ban.
I was getting a little excited when I heard the news of a touch screen Tracfone. After looking at the video of the cookie it appears to have the same software as the the Prime for Gophone. Yuck! I returned that one. Very poor touch screen.
On Amazon, the LG C105 (the 500) is limited to a 4 gig sd card, like the LG 900. Can't even get all my music on that size.
I guess it is a good thing Trac is introducing some new phones but these don't really appeal to me. To many restrictions/limitations/handicaps.
I agree that these aren't really very exciting for people that have used a lot of different phones in their time. But for the loyal TracFone users, who have known nothing outside of TracFone's limited offering, I think these will be a big deal.
In my opinion, they will be similar to the c261 (first camera phone on Trac), w376g (first BT), Samsung t401/r451 (first qwerty from AM), and, to a lesser extent, the em326g (first mp3 phone from AM). In the last year I've been getting a lot of questions like "Do you know when Trac will get a QWERTY phone?" or "Do you think Trac will ever get a touch screen phone?" In the past, I used to get the same questions about mp3, BT, etc.
I think a lot of people will be interested in these models, like TracFancier said.
But will Tracfone provide airtime at a reasonable price for a data hog?
Tracfancier: AT&T's larger roll started last year with Straight Talk. That's probably why we have been also seeing more GSM hand sets in Tracfone and Net10. See article:
AT&T will support Straight Talk prepaid service---July 27, 2010
The article mentions "expansion of Straight Talk to AT&T "could be bad news for Verizon, which has been relying on the growth in Straight Talk revenue to offset accelerating declines in their prepaid business"......In addition, by offering Straight Talk over AT&T's GSM network, TracFone will be able to offer GSM handsets, which are typically less costly than CDMA handsets."
Trancfancier you said:

We have to wait for more data on the LG 800g and its parent phone (aka Wink style aka Cookie style). The parent phones have only been out a few months and LG is as tight lipped as hell on the LG 800 and LG 500. The FCC-ID links are all dead for the later phones.
If you look at the Best Buy website, the LG Cosmos for Verizon is a highly regarded phone and has an overall score of 4.6/5 stars. Cosmos is more closer to Cookie style (aka Wink style) than LG Prime Go phone for AT&T.
Lg Cosmos score 4.6/5 at BestBuy.com
LG Prime score 3.4/5 at Best Buy.com
Lets not condemn all touch screens. That's like condemning all keyboards or some other feature for just being there.
Various companies manipulate or a particular technology in different ways. Users understanding of how a product operates will affect their experience and expectations. Carriers often manufacturer suppress or omit features that can make for a better experiences with a mobile. Also which wireless service(s) is present for an area impacts a customers experience.

Tutorial for LG 800G
Now we can get a better idea of what was kept and what was modified.
Now that we have written guides and tutorials on the Lg 500g and Lg 800g, we now need some real life testers. I want to thank everyone who contributed to this thread and please give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back for your efforts.
Due some of the information originating on this thread, Pbushx2 was inspired to write about the parents of Lg 500g and Lg 800g to give the public a general idea of what to expect from these phones. He frequently receives and/or purchases phones for testing, so his blog deserves watching for real life evaluation of these phones. Perhaps he will put up a video or two at YouTube. He usually does a good job. You can see his updates here:
