Data, MMS down? (please state time, date, location)
Is anyone having trouble on the optimus v? I cant received text messages and can't browse the web on my phone. I called customer service and they told me they have a text outage due to some problem with their server. As for the data issue they created a investigation case which takes about 24-72hours.
no problems with me.. I am finally able to receive mms too. try reactivating your phone. worth a shot rather than just waiting for answer from VM. sometimes I think the VM people will just tell you anything just to get you off the phone..they have a list of premade answers to the most common problems that they just use as canned responses.
I have been noticing some strange glitchy-ness lately. I had trouble with data last night. Airplane mode didn't fix it, but a restart did. Also, sometimes when my wife sends me a pic (also Virgin Mobile) it fails to download. Then sometime later they all come through. I'm beginning to think it's par for the course.
I couldn't send or receive texts at work, mon. tue. & wed till noon. Then it started working. No problems with data on 3g.(I downloaded a messenger app & used that!) Pittsburgh Area
I'm in Las Vegas and both my wife and my Optimus V's have been having data problems the last few days. It seems that data gets shut off. Sometimes airplane mode fixes it, sometimes not.
Well that's weird... I'm having texting issues too. Didn't even notice them until this morning, I'd been using textfree to talk to my girlfriend* up until then. I'd recommend it, except it requires a data connection (e.g. more battery while "texting") and it seems to be a bit bogged down today too.
* I'll let you decide if I really have a girlfriend. There aren't that many chicks nerdy enough to handle this
I noticed no 3G icon in my status bar this afternoon. Logged onto this forum and saw this thread. I turned my Optimus off and back on and "voila!", 3G is back. Is needing to "re-boot" the Optimus from time to time normal?

I'd worry about you if you never rebooted it actually >.>

It's hard to say what it is being so many are affected in various locations. I have not used my Optimus V in a few days period.
But, here is yet another possibility, and no I'm not a nut, - Solar flare. Recently we had an X class flare the first of this solar cycle. Flare activity will be ramping up over he next few years. Well those things come and go and generally we have not given it much thought, unless they interrupt a power grid or knock out a satellite where it starts to get large recognition.
Here in Florida, about the time you all are reporting 'issues' we were experiencing 'anomalies' with some of our commercial radio communications equipment in spells. It was enough that at times folks were having problems as little as 4 miles away from some towers. A flare alert did go out, and I checked into the timing, and....That had to be it.
If the Virgin service issues clear up pretty quick for all, maybe that was it.
