I just got the msgm8 ii through Cricket and like it generally (for cheap phone), but there seems to be one problem that is a big issue for me. I rely heavily on my phone as an alarm to wake up in the morning, but want to turn off the sound of the phone--vibrate included, preferably--while I'm asleep, so that I'm not woken during the night. But I want to have it wake me up with a tone through the alarm function.
I know you can turn it on to "etiquette mode" to have all sound turned off, but just did a test run of setting the alarm while it was on etiquette mode and all it will do is vibrate. I need it to make noise, or I won't wake up.
My Blackberry Curve was able to do this--in fact, I could turn it off entirely and then it would "wake itself up" and the alarm would go off when I set one. Is this just a flaw in this phone, or is there some workaround? I haven't been able to find anything in a cursory search online.
Thanks in advance for your help.
