Problem with the LG Optimus V. please help!

My optimus V just came in the mail tuesday. this phone is excellent, i love everything about it except one thing. after i post a tweet or update my facebook status, my phone seems to have a problem with loading my news feed/ twitter timeline. The data syncing symbol comes up in the notification bar as well. the only way to fix the problem seems to be shutting my phone off and turning it back on, and even then the problem sometimes remains. Does anyone know how to fix this?!

I'd recommend turning off data sync on the phone and instead configure it on a per-app basis. Since most apps don't need but to be told how to handle data themselves.

You might also be in a low-coverage area I figure...

Wait, could you elaborate? If I turn off universal auto-sync, I can't find a way to re-enable it per-app. All I see is a way to tell an app to sync once, manually.
