Text Message Failures

Is anyone other than me getting a lot of failures while sending text messages? Sometimes it takes me three or four times before a message goes through.

On Android a failed text message looks like a white on red exclamation point and a notification that says "Message Not Sent".

This is rather recent problem for me, but it could be the firmware on my phone.

I'm mostly asking people who text a lot. I only really have a problem with about 10-20% of my messages. Not a lot, but enough that I have to babysit every message to make sure it goes through. It's annoying.

this only happens to me when i'm sitting on the edge of having service... i.e. i move my phone by 2cm and i'm out of service area, hence failed delivery.

I got 1 failed text, but 2 or 3 failed calls TO me.. when I have full bars.

I just got these text messages saying someone tried to call when i had my phone right in front of me the entire time on normal ringtone.

I've had this happen many times, with similar frequency.... on every network i've ever used.

Fido (pre-Rogers), Fido (post-Rogers), Bell CDMA, Bell HSPA, Mobilicity, WIND.

haven't had any issues with texts not sending.

but i do get the missed calls notification too with full bars and the phone never ringing.

I think I had SMS issues when I first switched over. But none lately. At least none that I've noticed/been aware of.

have no issues with sms so far... in fact sent sms to portugal/spain to my dad when he was there (also on wind) perfectly about a week ago

I'm in the same boat as jono. It happens about 10% of the times. I believe it happens during the same time when if somebody tries to call you, all you get is a missed notification text message from Wind.

What I usually do is turn on/off the airplane mode and messages start to work fine again.

Jono: BTW which android device and ROM if not custom are you using?

No issues with text messages or calls but when I replied to a couple emails a few days ago I could not get through.

I have had a few issues too in the past week or so including today had to resend twice
