    Questions about HUG and renewals

I was 19 months into my contract and I renewed 3 years to get a good plan for my blackberry. Before I renewed, I confirmed that I'd still have my HUG on November/2011. When I log into Bell.ca, it shows that I will be able to upgrade on November 8th/2011. I called in to confirm that just now and at first the CSR said I'd be getting my HUG in about 2 years.. but then she was like "Oh yes, you will be able to upgrade in november." So will I be able to upgrade my phone in november? And is the ETF different on contracts that were renewed without hardware as opposed to one with a subsidized piece of hardware? Is it still $400 or is it different? One last question.. I renewed on a $55 student plan and got Caller ID/VM credit and 10% off my base plan.. in the future if I feel like it's too expensive, can I change my plan to a lower one?

    Thanks!

Renewing your plan doesn't reset your HUG eligibility.

She meant 2 years from time of last upgrade. Which would make it November.

ETF isn't different between phone/no phone (unless you live in QC.)

Yes you can change your plan at any time, as long as the voice/data combo is more than $45 before discounts.

Okay thanks, that answers everything! And that's great, I can get a new phone in november my contract started in early july of 09 tho so I'm guessing HUG is like over 2 years from the start of the contract?

HUG is generally 24-30 months into your current contract, depending on how much you spend.

Is this policy still in place today?

Is it purely ymmv on the 24-30 or is there a table you can share to specify how much exactly translates into a 24 or 30month cycle?

Policy is once per 36 usually at 24 or 30. New clients start at 30. Kpi and revenue used in back end to determine 24 eligibility.
