    can a Metropcs phone be converted to use as a tracfone or net 10 ?

    well just wondering if that is allowed or only their phones will do?

    Tracfone and NET10 offer several phones that work very well indeed (examples: Motorola W376G in GSM and LG 290C in CDMA), with excellent signal-pulling ability and sound quality.

    They're telephones. If you instead want a device that does a bunch of stuff unrelated to telephony, such as showing movies on a tiny screen, playing music on tiny speakers or being a handheld computer, I recommend getting a $300-500 iPhone and paying $100+ per month with a 2-year contract on a postpaid carrier.

    While basic web and texting are supported, Tracfone and NET10 are primarily for telephone service. And with roaming agreements with every single GSM and CDMA carrier in the entire continental United States, the Tracfone/NET10 system is unequaled by any other provider for that purpose.
